Jenny McCarthy’s Son Has an Unpleasant, Sweet Girlfriend-Watching Habit
Jenny McCarthy again Donnie Wahlberg they learn firsthand that imitation is the best form of flattery when it comes to their children.
“When we’re not together, we sleep together on FaceTime,” McCarthy, 52, shared exclusively in the latest. Us Weekly it covers the story of her relationship with her husband. “My son [Evan]who is 22 years old now, I will go into his room just to see that he is sleeping and he has FaceTime, a pillow, a girlfriend.”
McCarthy, who tied the knot with Wahlberg, 55, in 2014, explained that her son can be seen “doing the little things that Donnie does for me” in his relationship. McCarthy, who once received advice from Wahlberg to put their love “at the center,” said seeing his son imitate him and Wahlberg made it clear.
“That’s when I went, ‘Donnie was right,'” McCarthy said. “No matter how traumatized your children are in the beginning, you have to put yourself first. And love always wins.”
McCarthy shared that she was previously “trained to hide” her love, but Wahlberg taught her otherwise. “That’s something he would teach me by going, ‘No, no, no, we need to model,'” she said. “It’s okay if children are uncomfortable, it will pass, because children need to see what a healthy and loving relationship looks like.”
McCarthy admitted that she had to warm to the concept of PDA regarding their children. (McCarthy shares her son Evan with her ex-husband John Asherwhile Wahlberg is father to sons Xavier, 31, and Elijah, 23, with his first wife. Kimberly Fey.)
“Sometimes it took me to say, ‘Oh my God, your son has arrived, don’t kiss me.’ Something like that,” he said. “It took me a while to get used to it and I realized when we did, our children fell in love and became best friends.”
Wahlberg revealed that their children’s relationship is similar to his and McCarthy’s. “It looks like we are small. It looks like we’re in our 20s,” said Wahlberg, to which McCarthy replied, “It’s true!”

“I think it’s something that took a lot of trial and error for us to learn,” Wahlberg added. “But we’ve seen how successful that has been and how much of an impact it has had on our children and seeing how they are now with their loved ones, it’s like, it’s great.”
Wahlberg noted that he and McCarthy, who collaborated on the special crime ID So Much Loverswork to keep their marriage “hot.”
“Yes, we love each other and we’re attracted to each other, but we also take care of it,” Wahlberg said. “You end up like that [the spark] alive. We don’t take it for granted that it’s been 10 years and we don’t have to do those things anymore. Keep doing it.”
