Baker Tilly Canada appoints Terri Holowath as new chairman
Baker Tilly of Canada, part of Baker Tilly International, has appointed Terri Holowath as chairman of its board of directors.
With over 30 years in professional services, Holowath will focus on driving growth across the Baker Tilly in Canada network.
His experience includes ten years as a managing partner in Calgary, where he fostered leadership development.
Holowath said: “I am honored to take on the position of chairman of Baker Tilly Canada. It’s an extraordinary time for our work with Baker Tilly. With a focus on technology and digital transformation, efficient customer-focused services and new skills and cultural strategies, we are running programs that align with our growth goals and shared ambitions.”
Holowath also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing chairman Scott Dupuis, particularly in appointing Ben Lloyd as the first CEO of Baker Tilly Canada.
Lloyd said: “Terri’s guidance will be invaluable as we roll out a comprehensive new strategy across the country, driving our customers and our people exceptional knowledge, while helping them meet the challenges of the developing world.”
Holowath’s appointment comes amid a strategic expansion, including the acquisition of Serco Partners in France.
The acquisition of Serco Partners, an accounting and auditing firm in Toulouse and Labège, aims to strengthen Baker Tilly’s position in the Toulouse economic district.
The move is expected to increase the company’s profit in the region to 10 million euros ($10.4m), in line with Baker Tilly France’s goal of increasing profits to 400 million euros by 2030.
In December 2024, Baker Tilly appointed Chakib Zaari as the chairman of the Middle East and Africa region.
Zaari will also join the company’s international board, effective immediately.
His appointment is part of Baker Tilly’s broader strategy to enhance its global leadership and regional impact.
In October 2024, Baker Tilly acquired Alirrium, a company specializing in robotic process automation (RPA) consulting and implementation.
This acquisition aims to strengthen Baker Tilly’s expertise in RPA, AI, and machine learning, supporting businesses in modernizing operations and improving competitiveness.
