AHL selects NHLCA members for 2025 All-Star coaching program | TheAHL.com

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.NHL Coaches Association (NHLCA) members Joey Ali, Beth Hanrahan, Suneil Karod again Jessica Turi are invited to participate The 2025 AHL All-Star Classic is presented by Spotlight 29 Casinowhich happened on Feb. 2-3 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif., home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

In 2023, the AHL is launching a program to give professionals from different backgrounds the opportunity to work with, and be mentored by, various staffs in the locker rooms and on the benches of the AHL All-Star Classic.

Ali and Karod are team members NHLCA BIPOC Coaches Program. Ali, who runs Pro-Formance Goalie Schools and Proali Goalie Training in Surrey, BC, is the goalie coordinator for Simon Fraser University, minor hockey teams and several minor hockey associations in British Columbia and -Canadian Blind Hockey. Karod, currently the assistant general manager and director of talent development for the Victoria Grizzlies of the British Columbia Hockey League, has spent more than 20 years coaching and scouting, winning the Royal Bank Cup national championship in 2018 and five championships with the Victoria Cougars of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League, and has always focused on player development.

Hanrahan and Turi are team members NHLCA Female Coaches Program. Hanrahan, an assistant coach in the women’s hockey program at Brown University, played at Providence College and the New York Riveters of the NWHL, and has coached at Mercyhurst College, Lindenwood University and Shattuck-St. Mary’s School. Turi is an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s hockey programs at York University and a high school teacher and coach in Mississauga, Ont.; he also won an Isobel Cup as an assistant coach with PHF’s Toronto Six, and two national championships as a head coach with Team Ontario.

They will overshadow the All-Star coaches Geordie Kinnear, John Gruden, Dan Watson again Joe Cirella in every event.

Operating since 1936, the American Hockey League serves as the premier league for the development of players, coaches, managers, administrators, broadcasters and personnel for all 32 National Hockey League teams. About 90 percent of today’s NHL players graduated from the American Hockey League, and more than 100 members of the Hockey Hall of Fame spent time in the AHL during their careers.
