The Eagles’ Saquon Barkley hit the Rams’ Jared Verse for a TD after the rookie made comments about Philly fans.

Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley hit Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Verse en route to a 62-yard touchdown run in the first quarter of their playoff game.

The touchdown proved too sweet as the Verse failed to sack Barkley. The Pro Bowl player took shots at Eagles fans before the game.

“I hate Eagles fans. They’re boring,” he said earlier in the week. “When I see that green and white, I hate it. I get really angry. Like, I’m actually really hot.”

Barkley questioned the timing of Verse’s comments.

“It’s probably not the smartest thing to say when you come to Philadelphia,” he said, via ESPN. “I was nervous [as a member of the New York Giants] and even if I feel some way, I probably won’t give them more fuel. I’m sure Philly fans saw that comment. It was already loud and it was shaking, so it’s just going to add to it.”

Verse was treated to boos from fans at Lincoln Financial Field as the Rams warmed up in the divisional round game. His words were also displayed on the Lincoln Financial Field video board as the game began.

Barkley’s touchdown put Philadelphia up 13-7 with 1:07 left in the first quarter.
