The Israel Defense Forces, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, additional government departments and security authorities, completed final preparations on Saturday to receive the first of the hostages released by Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Sunday.
Arrangements include home-like conditions inside trailers for hostages to sleep before going to hospitals for observation and all the comforts of home, including baskets of toiletries and fresh clothes.
Inside the trailers, the captives will have couches and potted plants for little decoration. Outside, they can sit on patio furniture accented with colorful cushions.
Reception areas also have necessary medical supplies.

From there, the hostages will be taken to hospitals where they will be reunited with their families.
The IDF said it is asking for “patience and sensitivity” from the public as the hostages return.
“We ask everyone to respect the privacy of the kidnappers and their families,” the IDF said. “The public is requested to look only for official updates and announcements and refrain from sharing unverified information.”

The hostages have been held by Hamas for almost 500 days since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023.
The three hostages are expected to be released for the first time on Sunday after a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas on Wednesday.

In total, 33 hostages will be released, including two Americans. More than a thousand Palestinian prisoners will be returned by Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that Israel will not move forward with the draft agreement until it receives a list of hostages to be released. That was agreed after the names did not arrive from Qatar as expected on Saturday.

He also praised President Biden and President-elect Trump for helping to reach a ceasefire agreement.
“Soon after he was elected, President Trump joined the campaign to free the hostages,” Netanyahu said. “He spoke to me on Wednesday night. He accepted the agreement, and rightly emphasized that the first step in the agreement is a temporary suspension. That’s what he said, “a temporary suspension.”

Netanyahu said that Biden and Trump “fully support Israel’s right to return to war if Israel comes to the conclusion that Phase B negotiations are futile.”
Netanyahu also said he welcomes Trump’s decision to “remove all remaining restrictions on the delivery of important weapons and ammunition to the State of Israel.”
