DeSantis nominated to replace Rubio Moody wants to tackle inflation, spending, border: ‘Check the Fed!’

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody, who is expected to become a member of the US parliament, wants to investigate the Federal Reserve, promising to oppose the government’s spending, and saying that he will fight to strengthen the border and remove people who enter the US illegally. .

As Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., is set to leave office soon to serve as Secretary of State in the new Trump administration, Gov. of Florida Ron DeSantis announced Moody as his choice to replace Rubio in the US Senate.

And even with some Democrats planning to support confirmation, Rubio is likely to walk away with a confirmation vote.

“Here’s the most important thing to me in the Senate: inflation has been fueled by the Federal Reserve. We must check the Fed!” Moody’s announced in a post on X.

“As Florida’s next senator, I will work hard to reduce congestion in Washington and speak out against government spending,” he said in another post. “Just as we did in Florida, this state needs to reduce spending and be fiscally responsible. I look forward to working with DOGE, and I will work hard to leave the next generation of our state in a much stronger fiscal position.”

When discussing his role in the confirmation of judges and justices, he spoke specifically about Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

“As a former judge, I will take seriously my role of ensuring judges and justices to ensure that, like Justices Thomas and Alito, they share the principles and ideas of the law as our Founding Fathers understood them,” he said on Twitter. “I will work through the Senate confirmation process to ensure that those who will be confirmed are strong appointees and know that it is their job to interpret the Constitution as it is written.”

Sharing Moody’s post, DeSantis called Alito and Thomas “the gold standard.”

“In the US Senate, I will support President @realDonaldTrump and fight for legislation that strengthens the border, builds a wall, and removes illegal immigrants,” Moody said on Twitter.
