Meghan Markle’s Netflix show delay could help her ‘tone deaf’ reputation: expert
Meghan Markle’s decision to pull her new life chain instead of the California wildfires was met with hate online but was praised by royal watchers.
Two days before “With Love, Meghan” premiered on Netflix, the Duchess of Sussex postponed the release of her latest venture, citing the Palisades Fire and the ongoing Eaton Fire in Southern California.
While keyboard warriors were quick to question Markle’s motives, experts told Fox News Digital that the delay could help improve Markle’s public image.

Online trolls weren’t too happy with Markle, however, and took to social media to vent their grievances.
“Another statement about Meghan on MY site – why are they postponing this rubbish show what difference will it make in a few weeks?” one user wrote. “Are any other actors from LA canceling their shows on Netflix? Do you have this great ability to cancel a show? Why didn’t they cancel their Oprah interview when Prince Philip was in the hospital dying? I’m not buying this he’s planning something.”

Another X user wrote, “Yeah because LA is going to be destroyed in 3 months! It’s going to take them years to recover. What a joke.”
One X user wondered, “After the LA wildfires, I’ve been feeling nauseous about these #GriefGrifters .. and by extension, I’m starting to feel the same way about Netflix. In history, Netflix will be part of MM and Prince Harry. Well, you can guess how it’s going to work for Netflix.”
Meanwhile, an industry insider tells People magazine that it was “an easy decision” for Markle. “I don’t think he would have thought of doing a program that focuses on the happiness and management of many people in his country who no longer have houses to welcome people,” said the source. “I think it’s sad that critics say he’s only doing this to avoid the fires that engulfed his program. We’re all human, and we’re facing a tragedy.”
Royal expert Richard Flitzwilliams believes Netflix has “no choice” but to cancel the series.
“Harry and Meghan have been very active in supporting relief efforts and helping refugees,” Flitzwilliams said. “This is a situation where their person-to-person skills, many of them, according to the mayor of Pasadena, ‘really renew the spirits of first responders.’ Obviously this series is very important to their contract with Netflix, and we will no doubt be able to judge it in due course.”
