Michael Cohen asks for a pardon from the president of Biden: ‘I am also a son of man’

Trump’s ex-lawyer Michael Cohen wants President Biden to pardon him as he pardoned his son Hunter before President-elect Donald Trump took office.

Cohen discussed his efforts to reach out to the Biden administration for a pardon on MSNBC’s “The Weekend” Saturday morning. He said not granting him a presidential pardon would continue to leave him “vulnerable” to prosecution by Trump.

Cohen said Biden has a responsibility to protect himself and other critics of Trump, just as he protected his son Hunter.

“Yes, I applied for a presidential pardon because I believe that Joe Biden has a responsibility to me and that he had to his son,” said Cohen. “And I would expect that the same pardon that he gave to his son should go to me and to any other person on the enemy list, whether they want it or not, because I assure you, solitary confinement, where I did 51 days. , is pleasant.”

MSNBC host Symone Sanders agreed with Cohen’s concerns about being on Trump’s “enemies list” but did not agree to implicate Hunter Biden in his case.

“I mean, Hunter Biden is the last living son of the president,” Sanders said.

“I am also a son of man,” replied Cohen.

“I agree. You’re a human being,” Sanders said. “But I mean, just to be clear, you’re not the president’s son. And he forgave Hunter mostly because that’s his son, I guess.”

Cohen emphasized how important it is to take Trump seriously as a threat.

“You have to take Donald Trump at his word when he turns around,” Cohen said. “Until now, everything he says he intends to do, he actually intends to do it. And he has been doing it one by one. Now, it may not happen on the first day, as he said, but eventually he will do it. “He will have four years and a whole group of people who will cover government positions to help him achieve his goals .”

Cohen spent three years in prison for tax crimes, campaign finance violations and lying to Congress while working for Trump. He has since become a staunch critic of the president-elect and testified against Trump at the Alvin Bragg trial in New York earlier this year.

Cohen also said in September that he plans to leave the country if Trump is reelected.

“I’m currently working on a foreign passport with a completely different name. I don’t know how it will work with my wife and children. I really don’t want them to move to where I am. I want to go,” said Cohen.

Biden was attacked from both sides for granting his son Hunter amnesty in December, although he insisted that he would not. In the weeks remaining before the end of his term, Biden also said he is considering pardoning some of Trump’s political enemies, such as former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney and Dr. Anthony Fauci.
