ABC announced Wednesday, January 8, that the network’s most-watched talk show in America will expand to weekends with a new broadcast series titled. Weekend View.
Debuting on Saturday, January 11, the 30-minute program will be hosted by the Friday talk show team including the president. Joy Behar and cohosts Sunny Hostin, Sarah Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin again Ana Navarro.
Whoopi Goldberg will continue to represent “Hot Topics” on Watching Monday through Thursday.
According to ABC, Weekend View will focus on the biggest stories in entertainment and the best breaking news for social media feeds.
With the new “Hot Topics” untested during the week, the ladies promise to share their unique opinions on different topics with their sincerity and humor.

ABC“In addition to having its most-watched line-up season in four years, Watching is finding success in connecting with viewers wherever they find their content,” executive producer Brian Teta said the statement. “From podcasts to YouTube, and now there’s new exclusive weekend content on ABC News Live.”
While Watching achieved success in the ratings by discussing politics, Weekend View it is expected to take a simple approach with its articles.
“We’re following what we’ve seen succeed on ABC News Live on the weekends,” Karin Gilfordsenior vice president of Digital Media, ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment Networks, said Variety in an interview published on January 8. “On Saturdays and Sundays, it’s a very easy way to feel. They still cover all the news of the week, but with a slightly different tone. So it will be the same show format.
