Obama alums trash ‘stubborn old man’ Biden’s ‘flawless’ Jan. 6 op-ed
Liberals behind the “Pod Save America” condemned President Biden’s op-ed in the Washington Post on January 6 as “absurd” and criticized the Democrats for “doing good” after Vice President Kamala Harris endorsed the election of Donald Trump on Monday.
“It’s like all the language the Democrats just need to throw in the trash about like ‘institutions,’ ‘democracy,’ ‘this is sacred,'” said Jon Favreau, who served as one of former President Barack Obama’s speechwriters.
Biden warned on Monday that America is at risk of repeating the riots of January 6, 2021, at the Capitol if the history of that day is forgotten, and asked the country to “commit to remembering” this incident every year.
“But we must not forget. We must remember the wisdom of the saying that any nation that forgets its past will never do it again. We will not accept a repeat of what happened four years ago,” Biden wrote.

Podcast host and former Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett said Biden misunderstood the quote about history repeating itself, coined by philosopher George Santayana and even likened Biden to a “stubborn old man.”
“If you are too confused by the past, if you turn around, this is from the first philosopher, stubborn as an old man, you also lose the repetition,” said Lovett.
“That’s good on the nose,” said producer and former Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor.
The athletes blasted the op-ed as out of touch with the American electorate, admitting that most voters “didn’t care” about the events of January 6.
“Biden’s op-ed didn’t say anything,” Favreau said. “The op-ed on Jan. 6 perfectly describes how everything feels right now.”
The Democratic Party has faced growing calls to change the way it communicates with voters, with critics saying it relies too much on “wokeness” and academic rhetoric that alienates ordinary people.
Clinton campaign alum James Carville called on Democrats to tone down the “idiotic NPR jargon” when addressing voters in an interview Sunday with MSNBC host Jen Psaki.
“Let’s be real and get to the point,” Carville said.
Athletes continued to criticize Biden’s op-ed for failing to offer any concrete steps to counter what they see as a “coup attempt” by Trump.

“Our team is one sad op-ed,” Vietor said.
“Democrats doing good, explaining over and over again why the coup is so bad, it didn’t work. This style of politics doesn’t work,” said Lovett.
Vietor said the show made him “very frustrated with Joe Biden running for re-election.” The three were part of a campaign to pressure the president to withdraw from his re-election bid after a disastrous debate against Trump in June.

While there have been indications throughout his first term that Biden is in decline, Democrats and the mainstream media have often glossed over his deteriorating state of mind.
“His mental intelligence is great. That’s right. It’s as good as it has been for years. All this propaganda that his mental intelligence has decreased is wrong,” Sen-ke. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, DN.Y., told “Meet The Press” in February.
Vietor called Biden and his closest aides “manipulative” after the Washington Post reported that they believed he would have won the election if he had stayed in the race.
In a November episode of the podcast, Favreau said internal polling for Biden cost him the election by “400 electoral votes.”

Biden is not the only Democratic politician who has faced allegations that he is deaf. After Harris’ campaign managers appeared on November’s death episode of Pod Save America, listeners accused them of “lack of accountability” for his loss.
