Celebrities have been affected by the Pacific Palisades Fire in Southern California

A wildfire in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles has forced tens of thousands of people to evacuate as it destroys homes in the area, including those of celebrities.

The Palisades Fire, driven by strong Santa Ana winds, started in the Santa Monica Mountains late Tuesday morning and quickly burned 200 acres within an hour, reaching nearly 3,000 acres by sunset, FOX Weather reported.

Orange County Fire Chief Brian Fennessy joined “Fox News @ Night” on Tuesday to provide an update on how firefighters are battling the fast-moving flames, but said there isn’t much that can be done to stop them, so crews are focusing on them. pulling out and rescuing anyone still in the area.

“Our main focus is to get people out of the way of these fires,” said Fennessy. “There’s not much we can do other than move people out of the way of these fires and try to attack them … certainly in the Palisades, that was the case today.”

Reality TV star Spencer Pratt and his wife Heidi Montag, who started dating on The Hills, lost their home in the Palisades Fire, Pratt and Montag confirmed on their Snapchat accounts on Tuesday.

In a series of videos, Pratt showed how the fire quickly moved over the hill toward their home.

“Well, this doesn’t look good,” Pratt said as he shot video of the fire on the mountain behind their home. “This is the first time I’ve seen a flame coming. Oh man. Alright, I’ll pack I think.”

He later put a video in his car saying that he watched their house burn on their security cameras.

Montag sent a video to the grocery store saying their house was on fire, but they were safe.

Actor Chris Pratt posted on X and asked people to join him in praying for “the brave firefighters who sacrificed so much to save our homes and our city.”

“Jesus protects the lives of those fighting the flames and the lives of those who cannot get out,” Pratt wrote.

Actress Denise Crosby, who also wrote in X, said she is safe, along with her husband and dog, but she is not sure if she has a home.

Crosby shared a video from the beach Tuesday night and followed that post with videos earlier in the day showing smoke near the road behind her home and Sunset Boulevard.

Actor James Woods posted a series of videos to X showing his home and his neighbors engulfed in smoke and flames. Woods said his family got out of the area safely, and he praised first responders and members of the public for getting children out of the area’s elementary schools.

“To all the wonderful people who have reached out to us, thank you for your concern. Just letting you know that we were able to get out successfully,” Woods wrote on X. “I don’t know yet if our home is still standing, but sadly the houses on our little street are not.”

Professional dancer Derek Hough shared photos on his Instagram account of the fire and said that he and his wife were preparing to go out with their pets.

“Winds are hitting 100mph, and we’re packing up, getting ready to get out with our five animals JUST IN,” Hough wrote. “It’s scary with power lines blowing up near us and fires spreading so fast.”
