Joe Alwyn is ready for everyone to continue his relationship with Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, has moved on from their relationship and feels that other people should, too.

The actor spoke to The Guardian about his upcoming film, The Brutalist, and when asked if he is ready to move on from a relationship and the attention that comes with it, he made it clear that he is.

“That’s something other people have to do,” he told the outlet. “We’re talking about something that’s been going on in my life for a long time now. So that’s for other people. That’s what I feel.”

Swift and Alwyn dated for six years, keeping it a secret during that time.

The actor was asked if he worries that his relationships will outshine his career, including award-winning films like “The Favourite.”

“I just tried to focus on controlling what I can’t control,” he said, “and, from the beginning, I tried to focus on things that are meaningful to me: friends, family, work, of course.” So the noise outside. so, I think I did what a lot of people in the public eye do, which is just try to ignore it.”

He continued, “If you don’t, and if you let all that stuff in, and if it starts affecting you and your behavior, then you stay out. And you’re pretty f– -ed.”

Alwyn and Swift collaborated on two of his albums, “Folklore” and “Evermore,” both of which were released during the COVID-19 crisis in 2020.

Their relationship ended in early 2023, around the beginning of the singer’s record “Eras Tour.”

In April 2023, a source confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that Alwyn and Swift had called it quits, saying it “wasn’t dramatic” and the split was “amicable.”

“The relationship was just over,” added the insider, explaining that the ex’s breakup was the reason Alwyn could not be seen attending any of Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows.

Alwyn, like many of Swift’s predecessors, has been the talk of the town with fans poring over her songs, especially her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” for clues about the ups and downs of relationships.

Earlier this year, the 33-year-old spoke to The Sunday Times Style about the massive attention from the public.

“So you have something real thrown into a place that is not real: tabloids, social media, the media, where it is then dissected, considered, taken out of the unknown,” Alwyn said. “And the truth is, on that last point, there will always be a gap between what is known and what is being said.”

“I’ve made peace with that,” Alwyn added.

He also told the newspaper that he and Swift “both” made the decision to “keep the private details of our relationship private.”

“It was never something I could do, and I see no reason to change that now,” Alwyn said. “And, look, this has been a little over a year now, and I feel very fortunate to be in a really good place in my life, professionally and personally. I feel really happy.”

During that interview, Alwyn refused to answer whether he was still in contact with Swift or the status of his dating life.
