Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has denied reports that Hamas has handed over a list of hostages to be released in a possible ceasefire deal on Sunday.

Reuters reported earlier on Sunday that Hamas had approved a list of 34 hostages it may be willing to release in exchange for a ceasefire. Hamas officials said the deal was contingent on Israel reaching an agreement to withdraw from Gaza and enacting a permanent ceasefire.

“Contrary to what was said, Hamas has not handed over the list of names of the hostages so far,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement.

This statement comes days after Netanyahu was released from the hospital on Thursday after his prostate surgery.

Netanyahu’s latest work came as a 75-year-old politician continuing to testify in his case of corruption in Israel. He assumed this position at the beginning of December and is expected to continue testifying in the new year.
