Nikki Glaser’s Golden Globe Won’t Play Blake Lively Lawsuit

Nikki Glaser is familiar with making controversial jokes, but there’s one “hot button” issue he doesn’t plan to address while hosting the 2025 Golden Globe Awards.

“I think so Blake Lively–Justin Baldoni it’s such a hot thing right now that even talking about it would seem like I might be on the wrong side of things, even though I wouldn’t be,” Glaser, 40, told Yahoo! Entertainment on Thursday, January 2. “I don’t want to reveal his name either [weight].”

He added, “I’m upset that I even know his name, to be honest with you, so I don’t need to say it anymore.”

Lively, 37, named Baldoni, 40, in a December 2024 lawsuit, accusing him of sexual harassment and fostering a “hostile work environment” while filming 2024. It ends with us. Lively also claimed that Baldoni caused her “extreme emotional distress” and attempted to mount a campaign of “public deception” to destroy her reputation in an alleged attempt to protect her image.

“I hope my legal action will help pull back the curtain on these retaliatory tactics that hurt people who speak out and help protect others who may be targeted,” said Lively. Us Weekly in a statement last month.

Baldoni strongly denies the allegations and has filed a $250 million counterclaim. The New York Times for defamatory attacks and false light of privacy. It is said that he is planning to open another case against Lively.

“We are planning to release all the text messages between the two of them. We want the truth to be clear,” Baldoni’s lawyer Bryan Freedman he told NBC News on Thursday. “We want the documents to be there. We want people to make their decision based on receipts.”

Lively’s legal battle with Baldoni inspired many Hollywood stars, including Kate Beckinsale again Abigail Breslinto go public with their stories of alleged misconduct in the industry.

Glaser, however, doesn’t plan to include any heated arguments in his opening monologue on Sunday.

“There are certain people we all know who have no sense of humor, and if I can make that person laugh, it shows the people in the room, ‘Okay, it’s safe to laugh,'” the comedian told Variety on Thursday. “I had a joke that I didn’t think would make the final monologue: ‘The camera will be on you. Pro tip: Just laugh. It’s a really good way for the home audience to like you.’”

Glaser added, “I don’t understand why public broadcasters haven’t told us this yet.” When you laugh at yourself, it makes you look friendly, cool, and personable. I’m trying to help you. This way you don’t have to play Hip-Hop Hopscotch with Jimmy Fallon to look relatable.”

The 82nd annual Golden Globes airs Sunday, January 5, 2025, on CBS at 8 pm ET. The event will also be broadcast live on Paramount+.
