One thing that Washington politicians and Hollywood celebrities have in common is the tendency to give themselves meaningless and unearned awards, and this week President Joe Biden took this trend to an absurd level.
On Thursday, the representative of the House of Wyoming, and the head of Trump’s hatred, Liz Cheney received the President’s Citizen Award for her work as the chairman of the Select Committee of the House on the attack of January 6 and the other chairman, Rep. Benny Thompson. .

So, here’s the thing: Regardless of how one feels about the events of the J6, the January 6 committee, and its glorious hearings of the past, it was by any reasonable measure a complete and utter failure.
The American people are being promised a smoking gun that will end Donald Trump’s political career forever. Instead, Cheney and Thompson delivered a bone-dry soaker. Oh, and by the way, Trump will be back in office in two weeks.

The Cheney-led, Soviet-style show trial was just how big a failure? However, according to Monmouth University, before the trial in 2022, 42 percent of Americans held Trump directly for the January 6 protest, and after the mock spectacle, that number dropped to 38 percent.
Millions of dollars were wasted, thousands of man hours were wasted, an ABC news producer was brought in to hype things up but to no avail, because the American people know fraud when they see it.
This is the same Liz Cheney, after all, who, before succumbing to Trump Derangement Syndrome, said in 2020, that the actions taken by Trump by the FBI during Russiagate sounded, “like treason,” and could be “treason.”
But in the summer of 2022, Cheney saw an opportunity to get rid of Donald Trump once and for all, and return the Republican Party to the good old establishment types like him.

Trump, Cheney argued, was a traitor who illegally challenged the verification of votes in a free and fair election! Never mind, of course, that Co-Chair Thompson himself refused to vote to confirm the 2004 election. That was obviously somewhat different.
In these scenes, a meeting of disgruntled former White House officials and a number of Capitol police officers, among others, were applauded from an audience full of Democrats who despise Trump and two Republicans, Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who probably hates. Trump even more so.
What really happened to Cheney was how insufferable he became when Trump came in.
Every fool’s business had all the credibility to flip a coin and shout, “heads I win, tails you lose.”
And speaking of losing, during the ten televised committee hearings in the summer of 2022, Liz Cheney lost her primary points to Harriet Hageman by about 40 points. The fire of her hatred for Donald Trump finally ended Liz Cheney’s political career.
What really happened to Cheney was how insufferable he became when Trump came in.

Nothing else mattered. Not the border, not the economy, not Joe Biden’s corruption or incompetence. The only thing that existed in the universe was a unique and evil threat called Trump.
Even the bone-headed Kamala Harris campaign brought down the old Angry Liz to be feared among non-existent “Harris Republicans.” Trump’s most ardent critics can’t understand why everyone isn’t breaking out in a cold sweat over Trump like they are.
Liz Cheney could represent her party and her caucus in 2022. He would refuse to participate in the impeachment trial of Trump, even though he criticized him. If he had done that, he might still be in Congress. But, instead, the insufferable aide of the Cheney political dynasty threw it all away because he thought he knew better than the people he served.
Now, instead of a seat in the halls of state, Cheney has a useless insult given to him by a defeated and crippled president.

Who’s to say what’s next for Liz? Maybe her own Netflix special, after all, if someone as brutally unpopular as Meghan Markle can get a show, maybe someone as insufferable as Cheney, too.
Perhaps, one day Cheney will add an Emmy to his Medal of the President’s citizens, but one thing is certain: Liz Cheney will never come close to the power of the Republican Party, and that is very good news, really.
