A New York judge gives Trump a sentence days before his inauguration

President-elect Trump’s bid to overturn his guilty plea in his New York money laundering case was rejected on Friday.

New York Judge Juan Merchan rejected Trump’s request to vacate the ruling in the case based on the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity.

Merchan noted that he is still reviewing other motions filed by Trump to dismiss the case.

Sentencing will take place on January 10 at 9:30 a.m., when the president-elect may have the option of appearing in person.
