Lily-Rose Depp wants to preserve her ‘anonymity’
Lily-Rose Depp was born into Hollywood royalty.
The daughter of “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp and French model Vanessa Paradis, she stars in the upcoming thriller “Nosferatu”, but is reluctant to fully embrace the world of celebrity despite her associations.
Lily-Rose, 25, has worked in the entertainment and modeling industry for years and has long denied her papo-baby status.
“Every job comes with a set of conditions and this one [fame] he’s one of them,” Depp told the Daily Telegraph.

“The important thing for me has been to maintain a sense of, as it were, privacy and stability and protection [what] you are truly yours.”

He added, “People are interested in things they shouldn’t be interested in and . . . .
“To do that, it’s important to protect the feeling of anonymity – they don’t have to know ‘you’ well, because you want them to believe you like the other characters.”
When his co-star, Nicholas Hoult, admitted that the red carpet appearance was “very scary,” Depp reassured him that “it means you’re a good person.”

“That’s like a sign of being a good, humble person,” he said. “[Red carpets are part of the job . . . and it’s kind of the opposite of the job. The job is to be someone else and almost leave yourself behind – and go into someone else’s skin and do it in an intimate setting [on set].
“So, in a way, it feels private, like an intimate setting. And then all of a sudden, wanting to go out into the world and be more open yourself is kind of an interesting paradox.”
Depp has starred in several films, including “Disasters,” “Voyagers,” “Silent Night” and “Wolf.” Last year, he headlined the HBO series, “Idol,” alongside Abel Tesfaye, best known as the singer, The Weeknd.

Lily-Rose discussed the “baby” debate in an interview with Elle magazine last year.
“The Internet seems to care a lot about that kind of stuff,” she said. “People are going to have so many opinions about you or how you got there, and I can honestly say that nothing will land you a part unless you are right for the part.
“The internet cares more about who your family is than the people who put you in things. Maybe you get your foot in the door, but your foot is still in the door. There’s a lot of work that comes after that. That.”
He also pointed out that the label “nepo baby” is not appropriate for women, and told the magazine that it was interesting that the moniker was rarely used for men.
“It’s strange to me that someone would think that it only exists because it’s something generations have done,” he said. “It doesn’t make sense.”

Depp continued, “If someone’s mom or dad is a doctor, and the kid becomes a doctor, you’re not going to be like, ‘Well, you’re only a doctor because your parent is a doctor.’ It’s like, ‘No, I went to medical school and trained.’
“I just hear a lot about women, and I don’t think it’s consistent.”
