Marc Blucas Talks About The Renovated House Where Dayle Haddon Died
An actor Marc Blucas has gone public about renovating his farmhouse in Pennsylvania, which is where his mother-in-law, Dale HaddonHe died on Friday, December 27.
“You know what’s amazing, our house was built in 1711, you know, before George Washington was born,” Blucas, 52, said during a 2016 interview with Hallmark’s. Home and family. “It’s a way to keep promoting art when I’m not recording and working.”
He added, “We wanted to be closer to family so we moved back to the East Coast to be with them. It’s the only place in the United States that has that kind of architecture with old stone barns and old stone houses.”
Lucas and his wife, Ryan Haddonmoved to Pennsylvania from California in 2012 after three years of marriage. At that time, they welcomed their eldest daughter together. (Ryan, 53, also lives with two older children and her ex-husband Christian Slater.)
In addition to renovating a place that offered all kinds of “life projects,” Blucas and Ryan took in dozens of four-legged friends.

“When we bought our old house, the list of things to do was amazing,” he wrote on Instagram in January 2023. “I didn’t have a tractor yet, and frankly, it wasn’t on that list. It needed that money for other things. But I remember my dad saying, ‘You can’t have a farm and not have and a tractor.’ My old man has never been so good.”
Blucas added, “As my DIY projects and historic home building and restoration business have grown, I’ve upgraded and added to my equipment collection. From something I didn’t think I needed, to something I couldn’t do without. now, he is rebuilding the stone courtyard walls around the barn.
Dayle died at the Blucas and Ryan residence on Friday after a suspected carbon monoxide leak. He was 76 years old.
“The New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company was also on the scene and found high levels of carbon monoxide in the area,” the police report reads. “Two doctors were taken to Doylestown Hospital for carbon monoxide poisoning and one Solebury Township police officer was treated at the scene. This massacre is currently being investigated by the Solebury Township Police Department.”
Dayle is survived by Ryan – her daughter with ex-husband Glenn Souham – and four grandchildren.
“The bright light that is Dayle has dimmed in this world of Earth. Shining somewhere as bright as ever where it’s needed most, I have no doubts,” Ryan wrote on Instagram later Friday. “She was a woman in her power, but gentle and obedient to all. She is deeply intelligent and curious, gifted with beauty inside and out. Always kind and considerate.”
