The mother of the Oxford High School shooter is asking to be released from prison
Jennifer Crumbley, the mother of the convicted Oxford school shooter, asked a judge to release her from prison, concluding that it would be “unfair and unfair” to keep her incarcerated during her appeals process.

Crumbley’s attorney, Michael Deszi, filed a motion in Oakland County Circuit Court on Thursday, saying Crumbley is not a “flight risk” and “does not pose a danger to the public.”
“This case is facing problems since the prosecutor’s case of killing a parent unintentionally due to the criminal activities of his son who was charged and treated as an adult in the eyes of the law,” wrote Deszi in court.

Deszi argued that Crumbley should not be jailed until his case reaches the Michigan Supreme Court.
“… It would be extremely unfair and unjust to keep Mrs. Crumbley locked up for years while this case drags on for a while – almost years – before the appeals courts,” Dezsi wrote, noting that she has already been locked up for more than three years. years.

In a statement Thursday, Oakland County Chief Assistant Prosecutor David Williams said Jennifer Crumbley needs to stay behind bars for her actions — not the actions of her 15-year-old son.
“Jennifer Crumbley was tried by a jury of her peers for her actions and inaction that led to the shooting at Oxford High School – not for the actions of her son,” he said.
