The ‘1923’ actor died in 3 minutes, suffering from total organ failure during a weeks-long health battle

Actress Danielle Vasinova opens up about her unique near-death experience.

In December 2019, months before COVID was declared a pandemic, Vasinova contracted the virus. The actress, who will debut in 2025 with roles in both “1923” and “The Madison,” another “Yellowstone” spin-off, fell ill and fell asleep for three minutes.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, she explained that when she got sick she felt like she had the flu, so she went to an urgent care facility in Los Angeles, where doctors sent her home with a diagnosis of strep throat and orders to rest. .

The next day, she said she woke up feeling “very weak” like she couldn’t walk. She had plans to go to Las Vegas to do a commercial, and a family member drove her from her home in LA. that I will die.”

He took her to the hospital and dropped her off at the front when she went to park the car, and she said that she even told him that when she got to the hospital, “it was like a scene from a movie,” people running into one room. When he got there, he saw a woman on top of Vasinova, doing chest compressions, and then he saw a flat heart machine.

“Three minutes,” she said. “He’s gone.”

After the doctors and nurses were able to get his heart beating again, he was transferred to another hospital, where he was rushed unconscious.

“So I had complete organ failure,” Vasinova explained. “They put me on a ventilator, and I was there for about a month. My mom was from New York. They couldn’t tell her that I was going to make it. They didn’t know if I was going to come back, if I was going to pass, if this was the end of the road or not.

He was admitted to the hospital on December 12, 2019, and was discharged on New Year’s Day.

During his stay, in addition to total organ failure, he was given a pericardial window – a type of surgery to drain fluid from the sac around the heart. He also had two tubes inserted into his lungs to drain fluid and was put on a ventilator.

“I was 90 kilos,” he remembers being taken out. “I had to relearn how to walk.”

He continued, “I had to take a step back and figure out … why it wasn’t my time, and what is my purpose, and what did I come to do? Because I didn’t even know how I was going to work. and I didn’t know my way forward.

Vasinova grew up around horses and has always loved to ride, so she said she ended up turning there for answers.

“I started going to the barn and I couldn’t ride because I was weak. I couldn’t even go up the stairs. But I started going to the barn, it was like, healing, the power to heal the horses. And being around them and being in that power and I felt like … there’s a great purpose here.

The actor said he was grateful to the medical team that helped him and the “love and prayers” sent to him during his ordeal, adding, “It was really connecting with God and just being thankful for every day here.

Although he had been dead for three minutes, he said he had no near-death experience. Even if he did it, he doesn’t remember it now.

“I don’t remember because they just got fired immediately,” he explained. Like after I died, I fainted, and they said I could have things that happened, I could have things that happened or came to me later in life. But I don’t remember seeing the light. I don’t remember anything like that.”

What he remembers was feeling “a sense of peace” as he put it down.

“I can’t describe it as anything other than, there’s nothing to be afraid of. It’s amazing because it was so painful, like it was … I was gone. But there was just this sense of peace, the sense of peace. The calm is what I remember.

Five years later, Vasinova says she has not fully recovered.

Although he’s “stronger every day,” his left lung isn’t fully functional, “So I have to keep training and getting stronger and, you know, exercising. And sometimes I get tired. So I just work out. You have to, you know, realize that and take time off, so it is a work in progress.

Nevertheless, his condition is now “night and day” as it was in its heaviness. He said he’s getting “better every day.”

His faith, he said, “100%” helped him through it.

“I think I had lost my faith before that,” she said. “And I think it reconnected me and, you know, showed me what’s important in life.”

In February, Vasinova will make her debut in the “Yellowstone” universe, appearing in the premiere of the second season of 1923. Although he had no stories to share about Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, the stars of the show, he did have an interesting story about how he came to be cast.

“They let me down at the last minute because I was actually not the first to choose the job,” he said. “But the other girl they threw, I think she couldn’t ride [horses]and then, you know, I ride, and they’re like, ‘Can you be here tomorrow?’

His character, Ata Waipa, is a Native American from the Comanche tribe. Vasinova herself is Cherokee and Sioux, and said that even though she was cast at the last minute, she had to learn to speak Comanche for the role. The storm delayed filming for several weeks, giving him more time to prepare, but he said he had the dialect and language ready to go on short notice.

In “The Madison,” another upcoming series in Taylor Sheridan’s universe, Vasinova will appear alongside Michelle Pfeiffer as a woman named Kestrel who lives on a Montana ranch with her husband. He did not give further details for fear of robbers.
