The suspect accused of burning and killing a woman on the NYC subway has been illegally deported
An immigrant from Guatemala who was arrested in connection with the horrific death of a woman who was burned to death in a subway. Brooklyn, New Yorkon Sunday he was fired earlier.
Sebastian Zapeta, 33, was arrested by the Border Patrol on June 1, 2018 after crossing illegally in Sonoita, Arizona, and was deported by the Trump administration a few days later on June 7, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement spokeswoman Marie Ferguson told Fox News.
Ferguson added that Zapeta then re-entered the US illegally “at an unknown date and location.”
He also added that after Zapeta is charged with details of where he is being held, Enforcement and Removal Operations “will place the detainee on arrival at the NYPD facility where he is being held.

So far, no charges have been filed against Zapeta. The Kings County District Attorney’s office said in a statement Monday that it “does not have a timeline for that,” and “does not expect to appear in court today.”
Surveillance video shows the suspect calmly approach the woman, who was sitting motionless and possibly sleeping, as she boarded the F train at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station and set her on fire.
The New York Police Department did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Fox News Digital about the identity of the victim.

His clothes were “completely submerged within seconds,” said New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, describing the case as “one of the most depraved crimes one person could ever commit against another.”
The suspect then sat on a nearby bench outside the train car and watched as the police and transport worker extinguished the flames. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was arrested hours later on a subway line. Tisch added that a person of interest was found with a flashlight in his pocket.
“The depravity of this heinous crime is beyond comprehension, and my office is committed to bringing the perpetrator to justice,” said the DA’s office. “This heinous and senseless act of abuse against a vulnerable woman will be met with dire consequences. Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe on our subways, and we will do everything in our power to ensure accountability in this case. I highly commend the NYPD for their swift work in apprehending the suspect.”
