Trump reveals exact time his administration will be ‘fully operational’ in first rally speech since election

President-elect Trump has estimated the exact time his administration will be “fully operational” on Jan. 20 in his first rally speech since defeating Vice President Kamala Harris last month.

“You’ve got a few days to wait. We’ll be up and running, I’d say, about 2:00 on the 20th,” Trump said on stage at AmericaFest.

Trump took the stage of the Phoenix Convention Center Sunday as part of Turning Point’s annual AmericaFest event – a four-day event billed as part of “the largest conservative movement in the country” – where the president won the election last month, and a preview of his administration in the waning days of the transition period.

“The thing that brings people together is winning. It wins. And we had that for most of my first year. We had a lot of — we had the biggest economy in history, in our first term. Now we can call it the first term. .We had the biggest economy in the history of our country, maybe in the history of any country. the world, frankly, we did things that no one else could do and now we’re going to be boring, like, ‘bora, baby, boring.’ We will drill, baby drill, but we will do more than drill,” he said of his win and future administration.

On Saturday evening, Trump released a message on Truth Social, saying that the US is regaining control of the Panama Canal. He elaborated on his speech on Sunday and said “we will demand that the Panama Canal be returned to the United States of America in full, immediately and without hesitation.”

“The secure Panama Canal is critical to US trade and the Navy’s rapid shipping from the Atlantic, all the way to the Pacific. It’s a wonderful thing. And it dramatically cuts shipping times down to US ports by days and even weeks. The United States is the primary user of the Panama Canal, more than 72% of all traffic to or from the U.S. Think about that is over,” he said.

This canal was under the control of the United States since it was completed, and it started working in 1914. It was given to Panama during the administration of President Jimmy Carter in 1977.

Trump also previewed his upcoming administration, saying that in addition to doing “the biggest deportation job in American history,” his administration will also launch an advertising campaign that highlights the dangers of drug use, keeping fentanyl flowing across the border.

“We’re going to do very big advertising campaigns, like a presidential campaign. We’re spending a lot of money, but it’s going to be a very small amount of money, in comparison. We’re going to advertise how bad it is. Drugs are about you, they’re ruining your looks. They’re ruining your teeth. If you want to have scary teeth, take a lot of fentanyl. If you want to have bad-looking skin, take fentanyl,” he said.

Efforts to strengthen border security and deport illegal immigrants from the nation, Trump said, will also include efforts to secure the northern border.

“Canada allows people and drugs to flood our northern border. You know, we have a northern border that is also not doing well. Similarly, people are entering from Mexico in unprecedented numbers. 21 million people have entered in the last four years,” he said.

Trump’s speech on Sunday followed Congress avoiding a prolonged government shutdown the following day on Saturday. House members returned to the negotiating table last week after Trump and allies like Elon Musk slammed the more than 1,500-page bill as “outrageous” and full of overspending.

Trump has asked Republicans to suspend the debt ceiling as part of their negotiations to avoid a government shutdown. The final bill, however, did not include a suspension of the debt limit.

Trump has not spoken publicly since the bill was passed, including on Sunday, although sources told Fox News that the incoming president is unhappy with the bill.

In his speech, Trump reaffirmed his support for former Fox News anchor Pete Hegseth as defense secretary in his second term, as Hegseth battles allegations of sexual misconduct and heavy drinking while supporting his confirmation in the Senate. Hegseth dismissed the allegations and vowed that he would not drink “a drop of alcohol” if confirmed in Trump’s Cabinet.

“To wake up our military and restore the unquestionable strength and fighting spirit of the American military, I’ve nominated Pete Hegseth to be our next secretary of defense. He’s going to be great. You know, I’ve interviewed him a lot on Fox, and all he wanted to talk about was the military,” he said.

Trump also celebrated his other Cabinet decisions, including Pam Bondi as attorney general, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

“If you look at, like, autism from 25 years ago, and you look at it now, something is happening. And I nominated Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Think about it. Think about this: 25 years ago, autism, 1 in Children 10,000 today is one in 36 children.

The former and incoming president continued with his usual campaign speeches, vowing to deliver on his promises to liberalize the energy industry and get rid of “woke” policies in schools and the military.

“I will sign executive orders on day one to end all of Biden’s restrictions on energy production. End his insane electric vehicle mandate. Repeal his ban on exporting natural gas, reopen ANWR in Alaska, the largest natural gas reserve anywhere in the world, and declare a national emergency,” he said.

Adding another point: “With the stroke of my pen on the first day, we will stop transgender lunacy. And I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get the transgender military out of our elementary schools. , and middle schools, and high school. And we will keep men not enter women’s sports.”

Trump also quoted his mother at one point during his speech, citing her use of the word “confused” to describe Democrats following the election.

“If you watch television now, they’re all confused. They don’t know what happened. They’re confused. To use a nice word my mother used to use years ago, talking about someone who’s a mess. But they did it. They lost their confidence and I hope they lose it for a long time and they come to us because we want to be with them.

AmericaFest began on December 19 in Phoenix and will conclude on Sunday following Trump’s speech. The annual event is billed as one that energizes conservative readers and voters.”all while celebrating the greatest country of all in the world.” The venue has a capacity of 14,000 people, while Turning Point reports that 21,000 tickets were sold for the convention.
