There were plenty of legends to choose from, but here are five from the past year that stood out.

1. The couple charged the guests to come on the wedding day
The couple tied the knot in New York City on June 24, 2023, but their unusual choice of wedding date didn’t become public until more than a year later.
Kareem (“Reemo”) and Nova Styles charged guests $333 per person to attend the “wedding experience,” which included a full day of activities across the city, as they explained in their video.

“They chose us,” Nova Styles said in a TikTok video. “They say ‘hashtag’ and trust the process by buying a ticket to attend our wedding.”

After the wedding ceremony, the guests went Hudson Yardstheater and One World Trade Center for dancing, dining and entertainment — with photography happening along the way, Nova Styles said in the videos.
2. The married bride makes lemonade
An unknown woman in the Bay Area found herself with an irreversible wedding reception and a wedding on hold – so she did the next best thing.
He donated the space to Parents Helping Parents (PHP), an organization that provides assistance to children and adults with special needs, and their families.
“The bride’s family stated that our organization, Parents Helping Parents, provided the family with the needs to support the bride’s sibling with special needs,” said Maria Daane, PHP’s CEO.

PHP decided to use the already paid space to host “a party for people with disabilities from 0 to 100,” Fox News Digital previously reported.
The party, called “Everybody’s Ball,” was complete with food, music, dancing, and a photo booth.

Daane said he got a phone call bride’s family two weeks before the arranged marriage.

“I think that weddings are being cancelled, but I have never heard that it has become a public event for people with disabilities and their families,” said Daane.
“It makes me feel grateful for the resilience and kindness of people – that this bride can do something kind and considerate in the face of her grief is inspiring,” she added.
3. The father of the bride forgot something very important
A funny story from England showed that mistakes can happen to anyone – even on one of the most important days in a person’s life.

Neil Crossley, the father of daughter Amy Totty, who was married in Yorkshire, England, in 2024, had an embarrassing moment that was captured on film.
At Totty’s wedding, Crossley started walking down the aisle towards the altar – without his daughter.

He said there was a “miscommunication,” and thought he had been ordered to start walking.
Crossley eventually turned around, picked up his daughter, and continued the traditional march down the aisle.

Guests can be heard in the video laughing at the awkward moment, which Crossley said he later referenced in his father-of-the-bride speech.

“I really appreciated it as I was trying hard not to cry, and it helped me control myself,” said Totty.
He added, “It was a special moment none of us will ever forget.”
4. The hungry wedding guest was busy
A Reddit user who was kicked out of a wedding reception after drunkenly ordering pizzas to fill an empty buffet got the last laugh after revealing that the father of the bride had apologized and planned a replacement party.
“AITA for ordering pizza at my friend’s wedding because there was no food?” asked user “Adorable_Distance_15” in a post on the “r/AITAH” subreddit, an advice forum.

In the post, the man said he and his wife recently attended a friend’s wedding, which had about 70 guests, “mostly family.”
The bride’s family, they eat all the food at the buffet before all the guests go to get their first plates.
“What surprised me was that when we were called, there was nothing left,” he wrote.
Adorable_Distance_15 and other hungry guests then ordered four large pizzas and chicken wings from the place.
“Now you have the courage to ask us to share.”
When the pizzas ran out, the trouble started. A man who turned out to be the bride’s father asked if he could have one of the two remaining pieces.

“And I took these two pieces, put them on my plate and started eating them, and then I looked at him and said, ‘No, you and everyone at your tables had more than your fair share of the buffet and ate it all. This is the reason we ordered food in the first place.

The comment led to the man being kicked out of the reception – but after emotions calmed down, the father of the bride apologised.
To fix the reception problems, the father-in-law plans to throw a “post-wedding shindig” for everyone who was at the first wedding, as well as other people, a Reddit poster said.
5. The bride and groom put their guests to work
A couple who informed their wedding guests that they would be put to work on their special day had their actions described as “difficult, manipulative, manipulative” by a shocked Reddit user.
Earlier this year, Reddit user “joyousfoodie” posted about his cousin’s upcoming wedding, which he described as a “low-key wedding” that will be relatively small.

Although the woman said she was fine with the location and size of the wedding, several aspects of the upcoming wedding worried her.
“I recently found out that married couples send ‘cards’ to people [who] they are not invited to get married soon and you are ‘in our hearts on this special day’ ahead of the wedding,” he wrote.
“Their excuse is ‘to be curious and think about them,'” joyousfoodie wrote, “but what I don’t understand is why post this before the wedding?”
The act that made the Reddit post, however, was a post from the couple that said “everyone has a role to play in helping set it up.”
The couple wrote a message saying, “Everyone has a role to play and help us create.”
“Once the ceremony is over, the wedding party will leave to take pictures while the guests prepare the tables for the reception,” said the woman in her text.
The couple never asked guests if they would like to help and “just ordered.” [to] people what to do,” said a Reddit poster.
