Baltimore addressed that last winter in a trade. IO’s got one year of control Corbin Burns for Joey Ortiz again DL Hall in what was GM Mike Elias’ boldest trade thus far. Burnes pitched as well as the O’s could have expected, turning in a 2.92 ERA over 32 regular season starts to earn fifth place in Cy Young voting. He fired eight innings of one-run ball in his one postseason appearance. Unfortunately, the offense went downhill and scored a nice total of one run in their two playoff games. The Royals swept them 1-0 and 2-1.
