Kennedy, 32, was arrested on Tuesday, December 10, after law enforcement received a call “about a male-female dispute” at Kennedy and Lewber’s home. Police treated it as a “domestic incident” and Kennedy was subsequently arrested.
After news of his arrest broke, Kennedy’s lawyers spoke in a statement Us.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” read a statement dated December 13. “We understand that no injuries have been reported and we hope that after careful consideration, city attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
Kennedy and Lewber began dating in January 2022. Three months before they met, Kennedy and his ex Pump Rules the costar Rachel Leviss they ended their marriage. In March 2022, DJ and Lewber made their relationship official on Instagram, showing photos from the couple’s vacation to Tulum, Mexico.
Lewber has not been seen in public since Kennedy’s arrest made headlines, but he has taken to social media to let everyone know how he is doing.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out with love and support and looking out for me,” Lewber wrote on her Instagram Story on Saturday, December 14. “I’m doing well and taking the time I need right now. I deeply appreciate all kindness and respect for my privacy at this time.”
A second source told earlier Us that Lewber’s parents were coming “into town” and the group was staying at an “Airbnb.”
After a week in jail, Kennedy broke his silence, discussing how he prioritized his commitment to being sober.
“I am committed to making important changes in my life,” the Bravo star shared on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, December 17. “I am taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and the presence of my loved ones. Navigating challenging times is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward for the amazing support system around me.”
