Four of golf’s biggest names will face off in The Showdown at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas on Tuesday.
The PGA’s Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler will play LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka in the made-for-TV event over 18 holes. There have been nine previous editions of these shows, the first of which came in 2018 when Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson competed against each other.
Scheffler enters Tuesday on the back of his best year as a pro — wins at the Masters, the Paris Olympics and the FedEx Cup. In all, he had seven victories on tour this past season, the most since Tiger Woods in 2007. It led to his third consecutive Jack Nicklaus award as the PGA Tour Player of the Year.
DeChambeau had a strong year, edging McIlroy to win the US Open in June and finishing in the top 10 at the Masters and PGA Championship. Koepka’s best finish in the majors was tied for 26th at the PGA Championship and the US Open.
