Andy Cohen on Carole Radziwil Reaching Out, Dorit vs. Kyle and more

From Dorit Kemsley vs. Kyle Richards in recent comments from the Bravo reunion, Us Weekly you are caught Andy Cohen to discuss Housewives hot topics, New Year’s Eve and more.

Talking to Us ahead of his Fresca Mixed holiday happy hour at the Magic Hour Elephant Lounge on Monday, December 16, Cohen started with tips for his perfect NYE party (if you’re not catching the live broadcast on CNN, of course).

“I can tell [arrival at] 9 o’clock. I can invite more people than you think you can into your apartment because it’s New Year’s Eve and it’s crazy. And people are jumping at the party!” Cohen said Us. “And you want there to be a flow that happens in your house throughout the night. So people can go and be like, ‘Hey, I’m going to Rod’s.’ ‘Oh, OK. See you later. ‘Then other people show up and they’re like, ‘Oh, we just left this place.’ And it’s fun! I wouldn’t tell everyone who’s coming – leave a few names on the list, so it sounds like they’re unexpected guests. I had a party the other night and I didn’t tell people that, like, three old friends came and they were really surprised and it felt like fun!”

Cohen was also passionate about lighting — “You want everyone to look good. Super dim is good” — before circling back in time.

“The reason I say after 8:30 or 9 is there is no need to serve food. You can have snacks too, like cookies and sweets. You really need to focus on having enough spirits for everyone. And one of the reasons why I like Fresca Mixed is not only because I’ve been drinking Fresca and tequila for many years, I’m famous – I think I gave them an idea, but that’s okay – I also like it because it’s simple and they have a lot of flavors,” he says. “Your guests feel completely taken care of and they’re like, ‘Wow, you’ve got orange mango, you’ve got tequila Paloma.’ And it’s like, yeah, I’ve got whatever you want!’” (For the record, Cohen’s BFF Anderson Cooper is a fan of tequila Paloma, while Cohen currently favors orange mango.)

‘RHONJ’
When asked when there would be an update on the Garden State situation, Cohen made it clear he had nothing new to share. “You won’t get it, like a year, so everyone stops asking,” he said Us. “And I keep saying you won’t get anything, so stop asking!”

‘RHOBH’
Over in Beverly Hills, Cohen admitted that fans are seeing another side of Dorit as she navigates her split from her husband. PK – cigarette and all. “He is busy in his life and analyzing his own life. And I think that plan is not a clean plan,” he said. “He sees that as he lives it.”

OG Kyle also writes about her breakup with her husband Mauricio on the show, but as viewers know the split isn’t bringing the two former BFFs back together — just yet. “Kyle is at the same place in his life. So I think you’re dealing with two people actually, I mean, I think it hurts because [support each other],” said Cohen. “You will see them, at times, this season supporting each other a lot. In fact, they are incredibly needed now than they might otherwise have.”

When asked his No. 1 question. 1 of the group when they shot the 90210 reunion, Cohen stayed mum. “I don’t want to waste the season!”

‘RHONY’
Cohen said Us that the latter RHONY reshoots went “really well” – and he promised the stunts wouldn’t be censored. “We talked about these pranks for about three minutes,” he confirmed before teasing others who will enter the program despite the fans’ criticism. “This trip from this trip to Puerto Rico has been a blast. And it reinforces the reunion very carefully. “

Speaking of NYC, Cohen recently revealed that he and the former star Carole Radzwill make amendments. “He sent me a message. We were chatting in public for a bit, he sent me private messages, and then we started texting each other,” she said. “Then we bumped into each other. The weird thing is that I haven’t seen him since he left the show — I haven’t seen or met him since then [2018]. I [ran] walked into him, like, 10 days later at the Polo Bar, which was crazy. I’ve known him since the early 2000s, I think, or late 90s. So we have a long history together that precedes the Mothers of the Houses.”

When asked if Carole could be part of the new cast RHONYCohen said, “Funnily enough, he actually says he knows or has seen most of the young women. I know you are known Jennamaybe for a long time.” Saying that, he made it clear that he wasn’t saying anything: “I’m not saying that.” I’m just talking, you know these women.”

‘Southern Charm’
Cohen does not produce shows for Bravo other than Housewives franchise, but does reunion shows like Vanderpump Rules, Below Deck and has an open cast WWHL often. Recently, he has hosted Craig Conover to discuss the latest season of Southern Charm — and pressured the longtime Bravo star to admit to lying on camera over the past decade after she said she never did.

“I can’t wait to meet. We’re going to watch it with him — we’re going to play a montage.” Cohen said, before clarifying that he “did.”

“I don’t think we are! …We’ll see what he says,” he continued. “He always has an answer for everything.” What remains unclear is that JT Thomas will appear after saying in November that he was leaving the show. “JT is a wild ride,” he added “I don’t know [what is going on with him] …but I’m a fan.”

‘VPR’
“Most of us have sent a DM or texted,” Cohen said Us about network regeneration systems Vanderpump Rules with a new actor. “I don’t think anyone was surprised, but it was the end of an era. I was like, ‘Let me look at the oldest pictures I have of these guys. And I went back and posted pictures of Jax, Sandoval, Stassi again Scheana. All four came to WWHL in the beginning. It was so fun to see – they looked so young and innocent. ” When asked if Cohen had been in contact with him James Kennedywho was recently arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence earlier this month, Cohen replied, “No.”

‘RHOC’
“[It was] one of the most popular moments A woman from Orange County always. And that’s 18 seasons with the highest ratings in years, over three million viewers,” Cohen said at the time. Us he brought the first franchise, which ended up being Tamra Judge again Shannon Beador it seems like they are trying to turn a new page in their friendship. When asked if they would actually open the page, Cohen admitted, “I would never try to guess.”

About “friend” Alexis BellinoThe situation with the group, Cohen offered: “Here’s the thing about Housewives – and especially Housewives of Orange County — that group of people who are always kind of weird in each other’s lives in a kind of dotted way, or who roll together at Javier’s, The Quiet Woman. He will always be in the universe.”

‘RHOSLC’
It’s calling Angie K.“Unbelievable,” Cohen noted, noting that he loves “seeing Mother City blossom.” He went on to say: “The thing about Housewives of Salt Lake Citythey are all in bloom. And these are the five seasons! And this is two seasons after considering, ‘Can they survive outside Jen Shah?’ And a season after the thought was, ‘Can they survive outside Monica?’ So it’s really exciting to see.”

Us he also had to ask about the new person Brittany Bateman and chose to have him as a “friend” instead of catching snowflakes. “I think about this time, especially when you look at it Women of MiamiI think the lines between ‘friend’ and Housewife, you know, have blurred a bit. I think it means, we use it differently, maybe, but I’m not sure it matters as long as they’re part of the collection.”

‘RHOP’
Cohen “absolutely agreed” with him Us that it was nice to see you Gizelle Bryant except BFF Robyn Dixon to RHOPadding, “I think Gizelle is having a great season.”
