A Satanic “birthday” exhibit featuring a spirit statue erected in downtown Concord near the New Hampshire State Capitol has been vandalized after several incidents of vandalism last week. Now, Democratic state representative Ellen Read says the temple “probably should” be able to put up a new exhibit on its site.

“I think maybe it should, because I think vandalism and hate should not go without an answer. But it’s up to them,” said Read, reported the Catholic News Agency.

Read told the newspaper that he came up with the idea to suggest that The Satanic Temple (TST) put on a Christmas display, which was the image of Baphomet – despite the throwing of local officials – saying that the site of the birth of Jesus by Catholic groups should. not just a decoration there. “I objected to this permission because I believe that the request was not made to promote religious equality but for the purpose of pursuing political goals against religion, and because I do not respond well to legal fraud, the threat of legal proceedings,” Concord. Mayor Byron Champlin said so at a council meeting last Monday. “Some on social media have celebrated the unveiling of the Satanic Temple as a victory for pluralism and a reflection of our diversity as a society. “After reviewing its legal procedures, the City has finally decided to continue with the policy of allowing non-visible displays in City Plaza this holiday season and allowing the statue,” said the city statement. “It is expected that the City Council will review next year whether permits for holiday displays are allowed in City Plaza.”

Concord Deputy Police Chief John Thomas told a local newspaper that the investigation into who vandalized TST’s property is still ongoing.

TST has built several holiday fairs around city or country buildings, often alongside traditional Christian fairs, in recent years.
