Trump sends ‘how’s it going’ message comparing Person of the Year cover to mugshot

President-elect Trump on Friday posted a message on his Public Truth account comparing his 2023 photo to his Time magazine cover.

Trump was named Time’s Person of the Year this week, including a cover story and an in-depth interview as he prepares to take office for a second term.

“How it started, how it goes,” Trump wrote with a photo of himself on the left and his Time cover on the right.

Trump’s gun was confiscated in May 2023 while he was being processed at the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta after being charged with election fraud.

The magazine announced Trump, who faced an assassination attempt last summer and won the first non-consecutive US presidential term since Grover Cleveland in the 19th century, was named Person of the Year on Thursday.

Trump, at an event after the announcement, called it an “honor.”

‘Thank you very much for doing it,’ he said. “I thank the whole team on time. They are really professional people.”

He was first named the magazine’s Person of the Year after his first presidential win in 2016.
