Piers Morgan blasts Taylor Lorenz for feeling ‘happy’ about healthcare CEO’s murder

Former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz told a furious Piers Morgan during his show Monday that he felt “happy” when UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot in New York City.

“I believe in the sanctity of life and I think that’s why I felt happy, along with many other Americans, unfortunately,” Lorenz told Morgan, who was surprised by his response. “Perhaps not happiness but certainly not compassion.”

Thompson was shot and killed outside the Midtown Hilton Hotel on Wednesday. Authorities arrested the suspect Monday at an Altoona, Pennsylvania, McDonalds.

“How can this make you happy?” Morgan asked. “This guy is a husband, a father, and he was shot in Manhattan. Why does that make you happy?”

“So are the tens of thousands of Americans he killed!” Lorenz said. “So are the tens of thousands of Americans, innocent Americans, who died because greedy health insurance executives like this pushed a policy of denying care to high-risk people, and I’m part of the millions of Americans who are watching. that I care about suffering and in some cases dying because of lack of health care.”

Morgan asked if all the health officials deserved to be killed and Lorenz replied, “no.” After Thompson’s death, Lorenz wrote on social media, “And people are wondering why we want these managers dead.”

“Well, why not? Why are you laughing? You seem to find everything funny. A bloke was killed in the street. I don’t find it funny at all,” said Morgan.

Lorenz insisted that he took back what he said about feeling pleasure from killing, saying it was the wrong word.

“It feels like justice in this system when the person responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans faces the same fate as tens of thousands of Americans,” Lorenz said.

Tomi Lahren was also in the group and said that Lorenz went too far and said she had no sympathy for Thompson. Lorenz laughed at Lahren’s response.

“Taylor, I don’t mean to be rude, but why the f— are you always laughing?” Morgan said. “I don’t get it. I’m sorry, I’m sorry for my language, but in fact I find it unbelievable! Why are you laughing?”

“I’m laughing at Tomi’s rant about why people are angry,” Lorenz said. “The majority of America is united in this, we do not think that this is a health care system that kills, and, thousands of innocent Americans, that Tomi, also have families, have children. These people are killed by us. a barbaric and evil health care system for profit and I agree that we should not go shooting people in the street.
