Jana Kramer Says ‘Outrage’ at Coparent Mike Caussin ‘Doesn’t Do Anything’
Jana Kramer she has learned to put any anger towards her ex-husband Mike Caussin rest if it means creating a peaceful arrangement to breed their children.
“It’s not an easy journey, but being angry doesn’t do anyone any good,” Kramer, 41, told Self. Us Weekly on iHeartRadio 102.7 KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball on Friday, December 6. “It doesn’t do anything for me. I want everyone to get along, and at the end of the day, the children are the most important things to all of us.”
Kramer and Caussin, 37, were married between 2015 and 2021. Together, they share daughter Jolie, 8, and son Jace, 5. (Kramer later welcomed son Roman in November 2023 with husband Allan Russell.)
“I don’t have to love her, but I would love for all of us to be able to reproduce well,” Kramer, wearing a Revolve look by Emma Willis, told. Us on Friday. “Our relationship is now better than our marriage. That is because together we have been able to put the past in the past and really focus on the present and our children.”
He added, “I don’t have time to be angry. I don’t have time to cook. I can hate him, but why? Like, why? That only hurts the children.”
Kramer also praised Russell, 43, for being “amazing” in making sure all teams get along. (Russell, the Scottish soccer coach, also has a teenage son with his former partner.)
“I think it’s important,” Russell said Friday, joining Kramer on the red carpet. “You can never please everyone in a relationship. Just seeing that it won’t be right but everyone is doing their best.”
Kramer and Russell married in July, a few months after Roman was born.
“We’ve got each other’s backs,” Russell, who wore an AllSaints and Prada dress to the music event, opened up about what makes their relationship special. “And the fact that she’s ridiculously beautiful and the most beautiful woman on the planet. We know we are dealing with each other. We always want the best for each other.”
Kramer agreed, noting that he has so much respect from his partner.
“There is a lot of trust and security in that. I’ve never heard that before, which is great,” she said, calling married life “sweet and wonderful.”
While Kramer and Russell have settled into their daily routines, the One Tree Hill alum is currently giving birth to another child.
“I would love to, but I don’t think I can, given the losses I’ve had in the past and how hard this pregnancy has been on my body,” Kramer said. Usreferring to her previous miscarriage. “I think we are blessed with a healthy and happy baby. Although I would like to, and I have been trying to convince him, I just don’t know if my body can handle another one. If God has other plans, we will see, but for now, no.”
