Kentucky bettors place 3.1 million wager on Eagles to beat up-and-coming Panthers
There’s no such thing as a sure bet, but one Kentucky bettor certainly hopes so Philadelphia Eagles don’t disappoint on Sunday.
The Eagles will host the game Carolina Panthers on Sunday as 12.5-point favorites, and according to ESPN, someone placed a $3.1 million wager on the Eagles to do what they do best.
“Right now we have the best Panthers [money-line] price on the board and it will be a big fan of Bryce Young on Sunday,” Circa sportsbook director Jeff Benson told the outlet.

According to the report, bets were placed on Thursday at 700 odds. The first bet was $1 million but the bettor asked for a bigger bet. If the Eagles win, the payout will be less than $450,000.
“I told my guys in the danger room to go to work and get buy-in from the Panthers,” Circa Sports owner Derek Stevens. he told ESPN. “Since we are in five places now, we should have enough money to buy money where we end up needing the Eagles.”

Stevens added that Thursday’s wager was the largest he had ever taken. According to ESPN, it is believed to be one of the largest ever thrown in an NFL regular season game.
Despite these odds, Carolina is close to a major upset.
In their last two matches against Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Panthers lost by just three points. The loss to Tampa Bay was also in overtime.

Bryce Young also had a midseason resurgence off the bench, passing for 1,062 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions since returning to the starting lineup in Week 8.
