Federal judge accuses President Biden of trying to ‘rewrite history’ on Hunter Biden pardon.
The federal judge presiding over Hunter Biden’s tax case has issued a scathing complaint about President Biden’s claim that his son was mistreated and the manner in which the president was delivered following a last-minute presidential pardon.
US District Judge Mark Scarsi, who is based in the Central District of California and was appointed by President-elect Trump, accused President Biden of a tough five-page order to “rewrite history” with the pardon and suggested that the scope of the pardon. given to his son is against the constitution.
“The Constitution gives the President broad authority to grant pardons and pardons for crimes against the United States, but nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history,” he wrote.

The judge expressed his displeasure that the president informed the justice system of his order to pardon his son through a statement to the media at the White House.
“Instead of providing a true and correct copy of the pardon in the notice, Mr. Biden provided a link to a press release from the White House presenting the President’s statement on the pardon and the document intended for the pardon,” he wrote.
“In short, press release is not amnesty,” he continued.

Scarsi continued, responding to the president’s statement about his son’s tax case: “The President asserts that Mr. people who pay taxes prematurely because of addiction but that’s not the case.
“According to the President,'[n]o reasonable person who looks at the facts of [Mr. Biden’s] cases can reach any other conclusion than that [Mr. Biden] He was chosen only because he [the President’s] son.’ But two federal judges rejected Biden’s arguments that the government prosecuted Mr. Biden because of his family relationship with the President. “And the Attorney General of the President and the employees of the Department of Justice were the ones who oversaw the investigation that led to the charges,” Scarsi wrote.

“In the estimation of the President, this group of public servants, including the undersigned, are irrational people,” he said.
The judge said he would dismiss the case once he received a pardon from “the appropriate governing body.”
He also left the sentencing of Hunter Biden, which was scheduled for Dec. 16. The charges carry up to 17 years in prison, but the first son would likely face a much shorter sentence under federal sentencing guidelines.

“Subject to the following discussion, the Court assumes that the pardon is effective and will dismiss the case. The Supreme Court has long recognized that, despite its almost limited nature, the power of pardon extends only to past crimes,” he wrote.
Hunter Biden, 54, has had a busy year in court, starting his first trial in Delaware in June, when he faced three counts of gun murder, before pleading guilty to a separate tax charge in September.
President Biden apologizes his son departs from his previous comments to the media in the summer when he insisted that he would not forgive the first son.
“Yes,” President Biden told ABC News when asked if he would pardon Hunter before he made his decision in the gun case.

Days later, after a jury of Hunter’s peers found him guilty of three felonies, the president reiterated that he would not pardon his son.
“I’m not going to do anything,” Biden said after Hunter was convicted. “I will continue the judge’s decision.”
