DAVID MARCUS: Kash Patel is a fugitive wanted by the FBI
NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!
President-elect Donald Trump chose on Saturday night to announce that his long-time assistant Kash Patel has chosen himself to be the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and for anyone who is interested in the good spraying of the office, this is a reason for real hope.
Before we get to the laundry list of FBI abuses Patel hopes to complete, let’s first establish that this is a confirmed man who worked at the highest levels of the first Trump administration. This is not influence.
TRUMP CHOOSES KASH PATEL TO SERVE AS FBI DIRECTOR: ‘HE REPRESENTS THE TRUTH’
But Patel is a fresh-eyed person with a chance to identify and cure the abuses of an FBI that is often the enemy, not the friend, of liberty and freedom.
For example, Patel will take on the FBI targeting Catholics. The FBI has decided that traditional Catholics need to be watched carefully because we may be close to extremism.
As a Catholic, I will say that the FBI not inspecting my churches like the FBI did a few years ago would be much better. Although, honestly, a guy wearing black shoes and white socks to Mass isn’t fooling anyone. I wish that was just a joke.
As Sen. Josh Hawley questioned current FBI director Christopher Wray last year, “Good heavens, director, this is one of the worst intentions — you’ve mobilized your agency, the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world, against the traditional. Catholics… and you just told us you didn’t fire a single one.” man.”
Want to go back a bit? Do you remember the Durham report? When the special counsel found that, and I quote, “The FBI failed to uphold their duty of strict loyalty to the law.”
That’s the whole campaign, guys. Loyalty to the law. All that stuff.
And it doesn’t end there. Remember the Mar-A-Lago invasion? Melania Trump’s underwear closet being searched and the public display of evidence found there, played down like something out of ‘Goodfellas?’
Have we ever seen photos like this from the FBI regarding President Joe Biden’s documents? No.
Was there a reason for the FBI to treat the Trump raid as some kind of Call of Duty mission where President Joe Biden’s lawyers were given notice and high fives from the FBI? No.

What Patel can bring to the FBI is fairness, honesty, the real blinders that a female justice should wear. No good person should be afraid of that, it should not be afraid of anything that is true or just.
What Patel fears is the establishment and leadership of the FBI, a bunch of men and women wearing twisted Ivy degrees who have never been told no before. He may say no, when they want to end freedom.
And it should. Patel was not portrayed as the director of the FBI to target enemies, but to remove targets from friends, not just friends, but all of us.
Do you have an FBI file? You don’t know. You may. Do I have an FBI file? I don’t know either, but I might as well. And this is the point. These people have incredible power over all of us.

Patel’s record suggests he will use this power sparingly and wisely when it comes to Americans expressing their beliefs and living their politics. That you will want to punish crimes, not thoughts.
This is about the best we can ask of an FBI director. No more political investigations, no more scores to settle. Fair and open law enforcement. There are good reasons to believe that this is exactly what Patel is aiming for.
And there is every reason to believe that it can help our nation on the path to healing.
