Ranked 16th Hubert Hurkacz ended his longtime partnership with coach Craig Boynton just before the US Open. It was a successful five-year partnership that cemented Hurkacz as a Top 10 player (career-high No.6) and produced eight ATP titles, including two at Masters 1000 level, in Miami in 2021 and Shanghai in 2023 .
After taking some time to deliberate, 27-year-old Hurkacz chose a special training course that would help him take the next steps in his growing career.
Hurkacz announced that he will work with Hall of Famer Ivan Lendl and Chilean legend Nicolas Massu in 2025. Lendl, an eight-time major champion, also coached Andy Murray to his three major titles. Massu, an Olympic gold medalist in singles and doubles at the 2004 Athens games, and former World No.9, coached Dominic Thiem to his only Grand Slam title.

“Having Nicolas Massu and Ivan Lendl as part of my team is an honor,” Hurkacz said in a statement. “Their knowledge and dedication motivates me to work harder than before, and I am ready to work hard.
“I am excited and optimistic about the 2025 season and beyond. This has been a year of ups and downs; I have learned a lot and grown a lot, and finally I can say that I am healthy and ready for the challenges ahead.”
Hurkacz underwent surgery on his right meniscus in July after injuring himself in a fall at Wimbledon. He returned to the North American hard court swing, after being forced to miss the Paris Olympics. He finished the year with a 40-19 record but only played three matches after the US Open.
The Pole will start his 2025 season by representing his country in the 2025 United Cup, which starts on December 27.
