A video shared on social media of a child reacting to his new glasses has attracted worldwide attention and received more than 100 million views on TikTok and Instagram.

The baby’s mother, Stephanie Mazzone-Meyer, posted a video of 1-year-old Liam Frederick trying on his new glasses — and it was clear he liked what he saw. (See the video at the top of this article.)

Mazzone-Meyer spoke exclusively to Fox News Digital about this.

She said she and her husband were traveling from their home in New York to Wisconsin when the video began to be recorded.

“Slowly it started to increase on my personal Instagram, so on that trip we decided to upload the video on TikTok,” he said.

“I fell asleep during that 16-hour car journey and woke up to see thousands of people, and after a few hours we broke 1 million and ended up with 75 million,” he said.

So far, the video has been shared by news in many countries, including Italy, Chile, Spain and the Netherlands.

“This is the best video I’ve ever seen.”

Mazzone-Meyer said the comments she received were overwhelming, with some people commenting, “This is the best video I’ve ever seen.”

One person commented, “I was having a bad week, then I saw your son’s video and it changed my whole day” — while another said, “I’m so bad I cry at work!”

The mother said, “My video has helped other parents to focus on the health of their children’s eyes and to prioritize the time to see an eye doctor if they see that there is a difference in vision or if they see a cross between the eyes.”

She added, “I hope Liam can bring joy to others – the same joy you bring to us every day. He’s been through a lot in his short time and still has a big smile when you look at him.”

He also said, “You shine a light on beauty. I think the comments we get every day confirm this.”

“He’s a completely different kid.”

Mazzone-Meyer said that since Liam had abnormal uterine scans and was born prematurely, the pediatrician and his care team recommended more tests following his three-week NICU stay; one of those was an eye doctor appointment.

During the first appointment, the child’s eyes seemed farsighted, which was not a cause for concern.

His doctor decided to follow up after a few months – and at that time, it was decided that he needed glasses immediately.

Mazzone-Meyer said Liam has always been a smiling child.

Since her baby got her new glasses, she’s noticed that she’s smiling more (if that’s possible), holding more and playing more.

“He’s a completely different kid with his new specs,” Mazzone-Meyer said.
