Those who oppose transgender athletes in natural girls’ sports have pointed to unfair advantages for said athletes and those teams. However, a columnist for USA Today called those who refuse to play transgender athletes “a real threat.”
“For all the outcry there is about transgender athletes, it’s cisgender women pushing athletes who cost other athletes the chance to play and tie their teams to losses,” Nancy Armor wrote in a column titled “Opinion: Governance at San Jose State. Volleyball case reveals a farce of transgender hysteria.”
“It’s those women, not the San Jose State player, who are really dangerous.”
While his X account is private, Armor still received a lot of flak for taking it online.

“Women standing up for WOMEN is not hysteria @USATODAY it’s brave and about time,” another user wrote.
Added another, “Nancy Armor is a misogynist and misogynist. I’m proud of my alma mater (sic) for not backing down or ending their season. All the women of the Boise State program should hold their heads up. I hope my daughter grows up to have your courage.” .”
Boise State, Wyoming, Utah State and Nevada were among the conference teams to cancel games against the Spartans because of Fleming’s presence on the team. They knew the forfeit would result in losing their record, which ultimately helped SJSU secure its top seed.
Earlier this week, Associate Justice Kato Crews in Colorado, who was appointed by President Biden in January, rejected a proposal that the college volleyball players challenged the conference in an effort to have Fleming not play in the tournament and have their loss overturned.
