TOP STORY: The illegal immigrant accused of shooting an Orthodox Jewish man multiple times on his way to a Chicago synagogue last month used his cell phone to survey synagogues and Jewish community centers in the area shortly before the attack. His cellphone also contained more than 100 “anti-Semitic and pro-Hamas” photos and videos, according to the Chicago Sun Times citing police.

CHANGING TIMES: The New York Times appeared to subtly change the headline about the kidnapping once the killing of the rabbi of Abu Dhabi after receiving heavy criticism on social media over the weekend. The paper first reported Kogan’s death with the headline, “Israeli rabbi who disappeared in Dubai found dead.” Online critics quickly came out to downplay the kidnapping and the terrorist component involved in Kogan’s death. SPREADING ASPERSIONS: A new biblical historical film is receiving backlash online because of the film’s Israeli cast. Netflix’s “Mary” stars Israeli actor Noah Cohen in the title role, and Israeli actor Ido Tako as Joseph, the father of Jesus. Many people on the Internet are now calling for a boycott, saying the film is historically inaccurate because Mary and Joseph were actually “Palestinians.”
