Kamala Harris’s campaign aide admits she never beat Trump in the internal polls
Senior aide to Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign revealed that internal polls never saw her defeat President-elect Donald Trump in a new podcast appearance.
“We didn’t get the break we needed on Election Day,” Harris senior adviser David Plouffe said on Pod Save America, a program hosted by former President Barack Obama’s staff.
“I think people were surprised because there were these public polls that came out at the end of September, at the beginning of October, showing us clues that we have never seen before.”

Plouffe, along with other top Harris aides Jen O’Malley Dillon, Stephanie Cutter and Quentin Fulks, joined the podcast to share why they believe they lost the election.
Harris has been anti-Trump to the point of defeating him in the popular national polls, which Plouffe has acknowledged.

“When Kamala Harris became the nominee, she was behind. We said, you know, we rode back, even after the debate, you know, we were still down, you know, in the field districts, but very close. And so, I think, in the end, it was a jump- ball.”
Although top campaign advisers were aware of Harris’ poll deficit, this information appeared to be hidden from other parties involved, including those soliciting money from donors.

“That’s not what we were told,” DNC National Finance Committee Member and Harris campaign fundraiser Lindy Li shared with Fox News Digital.
“We were definitely told he was going to win—it wasn’t even a shot. I was even told that Pennsylvania looked good, that we were going to win 3-4 swing states.”
“And on election night … we were told we were going to win Iowa.”

According to Li, it is “absolutely not” common for this type of information to be hidden.
“I’ve been doing this since I graduated from college for over ten years [ago]. Not at all.”

He also pointed out that the trust of donors will need to be restored because of the light of day between what the campaign was telegraphing about its status and the truth. “But just like other donors, they’re going to be like f—ing way,” Li said.
“It’s not that he hit him that’s scary. The way he hit him. It wasn’t close at all. It was a decisive defeat.”
