Jason Kelce on Why It Was ‘Annoying’ to Play Against Travis Kelce
Jason Kelce he opens up about why it was difficult to play football with my younger brother Travis Kelce before retiring from the NFL.
After being asked what it was like competing with the family during the Monday, November 25 broadcast Monday Night CountdownThe former Philadelphia Eagles center, 37, had an enthusiastic response from his teammates.
“It’s annoying, isn’t it,” Jason said with a laugh. “Because he is very good, that’s why. See [the Kansas City Chiefs] they were very good. I was lucky enough to beat Trav once, but, yeah, if you’re out there on the field [and] you’re getting ready to play your brother, there’s just something about seeing your brother over there. He gets these wonderful stories of being outside in the yard playing football together.”
Travis, 35, was drafted by the Chiefs in 2013, and has won three Super Bowl championships with the organization throughout his career in 2020, 2023 and 2024. He and the rest of the Kansas City team are in their third straight campaign. Super Bowl won, boasting a 10-1 record so far in the 2024-2025 season. (The Chiefs lost their first game of the season to the Buffalo Bills on November 17.)

For his part, Jason was drafted by the Eagles in 2011, playing for the franchise for 13 seasons before announcing his retirement in March earlier this year. Soon after news of his retirement broke, he joined Monday Night Countdown on ESPN, and made his broadcast network debut in September.
During the appearance it is open Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this month, Jason revealed that he will be hosting a late-night talk show on ESPN in 2025.
“I’m starting, I believe it’s January 3rd … we’re going to do a late-night show during the postseason on ESPN,” he told the host. Jimmy Kimmel. “When I first went to ESPN to potentially work for them … I love the late night shows. I miss the sleepovers watching Conan O’Brien with my friends.”
He went on to say, “The biggest thing that players say they miss when they leave the game is being around the boys, the changing room, the booze.” To be able to have this game, we will have a lot of guys up there — legends of the game, friends I played with, coaches, celebrities.”

They call it Late Night With Jason Kelce is made up of five episodes and will air weekly on Friday/Saturday mornings at 1 a.m. through February 1, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. The show will be taped at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer in front of a live audience.
Jason’s upcoming late-night gig isn’t the only exciting announcement the Kelce family has this month.
A former NFL player and his longtime wife, Kylie Kelceannounced they were expecting child 4 – another girl – via Instagram on Friday, November 22.
“I feel like we captured a very accurate picture of how each girl feels about getting another sister,” Kylie, 32, captioned a cute photo of the three kids excited about getting a new sister. “At least Ellie, mom and dad are on the same page! 🤷♀️.”
Suddenly, their youngest daughter, Bennett, is crying, and the oldest, Wyatt, is holding his hands over his ears in panic. Elliotte, nicknamed “Ellie,” however, is smiling.
“I love my children very much, especially my daughters,” said Jason E! News On Monday. “I was telling someone else over there because he’s expecting for the first time – and he’s looking at it. They smile with you. There’s just a way that children should warm your soul in a way that nothing else can.”
He added, “And it has been a great blessing to have three healthy, intelligent and wonderful children.” And hopefully we’ll welcome the fourth one into this world, and we’ll be able to watch them fight and tear each other up and all the good stuff.”
