Incoming border czar Homan will join Texas Gov. Abbott at the main border, give food to the soldiers
Incoming Governor Tom Homan will join Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday at a key border post in Texas, and will serve food to troops stationed there on Thanksgiving – ahead of what is expected to be a key collaboration between the Trump administration and Abbott’s team next year. .
Homan and Abbott will greet and serve food to Texas National Guard soldiers and Texas Department of Public Safety soldiers in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Homan was named “border kingpin” by President-elect Trump this month after Trump won the election.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THOMAS HOMAN, THE CZAR OF TRUMP’S INFRINGEMENT
“I’ve known Tom for a long time, and there’s no one better at policing and controlling our borders. Likewise, Tom Homan will be in charge of all deportations. Illegal Aliens return to their country of origin. Congratulations Tom. I have no doubt that he will do a great job, and he has been waiting for a long time,” said Trump on Truth Social.
Homan, the former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), will be one of the most senior figures in the mass deportation operation the incoming administration has planned.
Abbott, meanwhile, has repeatedly clashed with the Biden administration over border security as his country grapples with a historic migrant crisis on the southern border.
Abbott has caused controversy by ferrying migrants to “sanctuary” cities like New York City, Chicago and others as a way to ease pressure on the government. His administration also built its own border wall, erected buoys on the Rio Grande and sent troops to provide additional border security.
Abbott, a Republican, is likely to find an alliance with an immigration administration with similar views on increased border security, an end to “catch and release” and tougher penalties for those who enter the US illegally. Speaking on “Fox & Friends” on Tuesday, Homan said the incoming administration is waiting until Jan. 20 to begin work.

“We’re already planning what we’re going to do to shut down the state of Texas,” he said. “Gov. Abbott is doing a great job so far. Illegal crossings in Texas are down over 80% because of the great work that Gov. Abbott is doing, and he’s been successful because he’s taken Trump’s policies and implemented them.”
“We will cooperate and help him create 100% security on his border, and we will do that across the southwest border,” he said.
On Monday, Abbott announced that Texas had recently installed several buoy barriers on the Rio Grande.
“Texas continues our mission of border security to stop illegal immigration and protect our nation,” he said.
