Jason Kelce chugs beers during an eventful Appalachian State tailgate visit

Former NFL player Jason Kelce got to see the Appalachian State Mountaineers football team firsthand on Saturday.

Kelce traveled to Boone, North Carolina where the Mountaineers met James Madison. App State ended up pulling out a 34-20 victory. Now, if the Mountaineers can get their sixth win of the season next week, App State will be bowl eligible.

But before Saturday’s Appalachian State-James Madison game, Kelce took to the backfield. At one point during his stop, Kelce was seen munching on beers. The retired Philadelphia Eagles center and seven-time Pro Bowler even took a few minutes to participate in karaoke.

JASON KELCE TO BROADCAST A NEW NIGHT GAME ON ESPN

Kelce, who signed with ESPN in May and appears regularly on “Monday Night Countdown,” also addressed the crowd and made a brief appearance on ESPN+ radio.

In April, Jason and his brother Travis received their college diplomas from the University of Cincinnati. Travis celebrated the moment in true Kelce style.

After shaking hands with the president of the university, Dr. Neville Pinto, on stage, Travis opened a can of beer as the Beastie Boys’ hit “Fight for Your Right” played on stage. Travis would often recite the lyrics to the song after Kansas City Chiefs games and during the team’s Super Bowl celebrations.

When Travis and Jason graduated from Cincinnati, they both missed their commencement ceremonies, The Cincinnati Enquirer report.

Travis and the Chiefs play the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte on Sunday. Bank of America Stadium, the Panthers’ home field, is located about 100 miles from Appalachian State’s Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Earlier this week, an autograph controversy resulted in Kelce having a less than pleasant exchange with a fan.

After taping an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” On Thursday night, a man lashed out at Kelce over the former Eagles player’s decision not to sign autographs for the crowd behind the phone. The incident, which was first reported by TMZ Sports, was captured on video.

Shouting, a calm Kelce tried to explain his reason as he was about to get into the car. “I have a habit of not signing to people who follow where I’m going,” said Kelce.
