Why Andrew Walker Made Tyler Hynes Cry in Three Wise Men and a Boy

The actor laughed as he thought about the funny scene. “I was crying watching Drew trying to get his lines. Paul was crying. And once we start doing this, it never stops,” explained Hynes.
Hynes admitted it was “hard” to stay in character while working with Walker and Campbell, who play brothers Luke and Stephan, respectively.
“I looked at Paul [say]like, ‘Okay, make the cameras.’ I watch him go [serious] at the scene and it just killed me,” said Hynes Us when we were in Canada earlier this year. “It’s surreal. It’s really good. You watch your best friends who you really love, they work hard and succeed at it.”
Campbell – who also wrote both 2022 The Three Wise Men and the Child and 2024 Three Wise Men and a Boy – was in complete agreement with Hynes about their first shift.
“There are many violations. The things that kill me is when Andrew first finds out – when [his character] Luke starts getting angry and frustrated, I’m dying,” Campbell said. Us of the trio’s inability to stay focused at times.

Three Wise Men and a Boy picks up five years after the start as the Brenner brothers clash over putting on a holiday play for Luke’s son, Thomas’ (Miles Marthaller), school. Fun ensues when one of the brothers becomes the villain in How the Grump Ruined Christmas while the other siblings treat the elementary school kids.
While Hynes and Campbell teased Walker about his facial expression, Walker only told us that he had a “difficult” time staying in character because of his cost.
“Paul and Tyler are killing me. They’re funny together,” Walker said. “I say so [Paul’s] like John Cleese of Hallmark. He’s a funny, smart guy.” (Cleese is a British comedian and actor best known for Monty Python franchise.)

Walker noted that since the cast are all “so different” they work best as an ensemble. “We just give each other space and I don’t think anyone is stepping on anyone’s toes,” he added. “It’s just perfect chemistry.”
Campbell agreed, telling Us“There’s not a lot of difference between off-screen and on-screen, in terms of everything.” He joked, “We’re actually slightly more advanced versions of ourselves on camera. It’s just fun.”
Hynes, meanwhile, teased that fans will thank all the stars for their very different stories.
“Paul and I have been on the road this time. Drew is kind of a bright, shining light,” she shared. “You look like a unicorn. He’s so cute and he comes with a vibe. Me and Paul [however] They are scratching in the dirt trying to find things.”
