Texas man convicted after allegedly mutilating victims, eating human heart as part of ‘ritual sacrifices’
A Texas man has been convicted of killing three people, dismembering them, and burning their bodies after admitting to investigators that he was called “to make sacrifices.”
Jason Thornburg was found guilty of murder Wednesday and now, the same Tarrant County jury that acquitted him must decide whether he gets the death penalty or spends the rest of his life in prison without parole, according to Fox. 4.
In September 2021, Thornburg killed three people, dismembered their bodies and stored them under his bed at a motel in Euless, Texas, before setting the bodies on fire inside a Fort Worth landfill.

Thornburg admitted to investigators that he felt compelled to perform “ritual sacrifices” and that he ate the victim’s heart and other body parts.
His lawyers argued that he was insane at the time of the killing and suffered from severe mental illness.

When he was arrested on suspicion of murder, Thornburg confessed to police that he killed his roommate in May 2021 during a suspicious home explosion along with his girlfriend in Arizona in 2017.
The two previous murder cases were brought to court on Thursday when sentencing began.
Jurors must now decide whether he gets the death penalty or spends the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. (Stock)
