Ret. Gen. Milley says America will be ‘fine’ under Trump, after being reported as ‘fascist to the core’

Former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Gen. Mark Milley, who has retired, has since reportedly warned that President-elect Donald Trump is a “fascist to the core” and said the United States will do well under his leadership.

Many of Trump’s critics have gone from warning that he will be a threat to democracy but speaking positively about how America will live under him, now that he has won the presidential election.

Milley’s claims that Trump is a “fascist” and “the most dangerous man in this country” in an upcoming book written by Washington Post editor, Bob Woodward, appear to have gone awry as he spoke about America’s future at a recent event.

“The bottom line is take a deep breath, America is going to be fine,” he told MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle at a Pallas Foundation event televised on the network. “There are many waves out there, but this is a big, strong country. 380 million people. Big institutions, big people, big workers, and a small group of people who will protect America.”

MSNBC also showed him speaking to their boss at the same event and said the Pentagon has a long history of changes from incoming Defense Secretaries.

“Every single Secretary of Defense has come up with the idea of ’transforming’ the Pentagon. “If all you’re going to do is go in with a wrecking ball and just tear things up, what you’re going to find is trash. And if that’s what you’re looking for, that’s fine if you want trash, but it’s not. You’re going to protect the United States,” he said.

Milley added, “So we have to change the Pentagon and it’s going to take effort. And guys outside of the industry like Elon, Vivek or whoever – sure, they can help a lot but – it has to be done the right way.”
