Masked robbers break into Windsor Castle estate, steal 2 cars – National
Two masked thieves broke into the grounds of Windsor Castle, one of King Charles III’s residences, and made off with two cars from the barn, police said.
This incident happened more than a month ago, on October 13, but it wasn’t reported until Monday when British newspapers caught wind of the story. Thames Valley Police confirmed the break-in to CNN on Monday.
“The criminals entered the farm building and left in a black Izuzu van and a red quad bike. They then headed towards Old Windsor/Datchet,” Thames Valley Police said in a statement sent to Reuters, confirming that the incident took place before midnight local time.

“No one has been arrested yet and the investigation is still ongoing.”
According to reports, King Charles and his wife Camilla were not at home at the time of the theft, but it is believed that Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children were at home at Adelaide Cottage, which is part of the estate and there are about five of them. -one minute drive from the scene of the incident.
The burglary is a significant breach of security at the Royal Family’s Crown estate. It is reported that the robbers stormed a six-metre fence at Shaw Farm, a busy farm in the grounds, before crashing a stolen truck into the farm gate as they fled.
In keeping with the royal agreement not to comment on security matters, Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace declined to issue a statement.
It is not the only time in recent years that there has been a security breach in Windsor. On Christmas Day 2021, a criminal was arrested on the grounds.
Jaswant Singh Chail, who was armed with a bow and said he wanted to kill Queen Elizabeth, was later jailed for nine years.
