CNN anchor Michael Smerconish has admitted that the mainstream media’s “constant bashing” is distorting and contributed to President-elect Trump’s victory last week.

During an interview with Mediaite.com editor Aidan McLaughlin on the “Press Club” podcast, A CNN expert said voters turned away from media coverage of people supporting the president-elect.

“It’s like a parenting lesson. If you tell people what they can’t do, which is intolerable, you shouldn’t do this, you shouldn’t do this, they’re going to rebel a lot,” he said.

McLaughlin asked Smerconish what he believed was the biggest takeaway from the 2024 presidential election. The CNN host began by admitting, “I’ve had to think about it a lot,” and declared that the media’s aggressive treatment of Trump as a threat to the country “is at the top of my list.”

He wondered if maybe if people could make up their own minds about Trump without the media telling them how to vote, “they would come to their own conclusions and reject Donald Trump.”

“But I think that the constant beatings and the combination of the influence of the media and four cases, one conviction, and showing, you know, that bad joke from Madison Square Garden a week before the election – again. I heard it, and I said it,” he told his manager, who is a Med.

Smerconish was referring to a controversial anti-Puerto Rican joke made by comedian and Trump supporter Tony Hinchcliffe during a Trump rally in New York City last month, where he called the US territory a “floating island of garbage.”

The media portrayed the joke as a major insult to the Puerto Rican community coming out of the Trump campaign just days before the election.

President Biden will continue to make this time more controversial in the Democratic Party when he appears to call Trump supporters “garbage” in response to a joke, a sound that the Trump campaign is using to its advantage.

Smerconish noted that he had not predicted whether Trump would win before the election, but said that the negative media coverage of Trump gave him the feeling that it could backfire.

“I can’t stay here, Aiden, I’m telling you, well, this is how I called the election, but I felt the power to have a boomerang effect, and I think that happened. I really did.”

Back in August, Smerconish said on Friday that Trump was more involved than Vice President Harris on policy.

“So the question is one of the contest is going to be about personality. If that’s the case, you lose,” Smerconish said of Trump, adding that Trump, however, “probably wins” in the policy battle with Harris.

The liberal expert, the HBO host, Bill Maher, recently gave a reason to believe that the Vice President Kamala Harris lost to Trump, that is, the Democratic Party is too strong. “You’re wearing ‘Queers for Palestine’ t-shirts and masks two years after the end of the pandemic. And you can’t define a woman. I mean ‘a person in time,'” she said on Friday’s episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. .”

He added, “You’re an education union for teachers and you’ve turned schools and colleges into a joke. You’ve just lost a crazy competition to a real crazy person.”
