Prosecutors Accuse Diddy of Trying to Taint Jury Pool in Jail

Prosecutors trying Diddy’s upcoming trial filed a new motion on Friday, November 15, saying the disgraced rapper’s fourth bail attempt should be denied for allegedly trying to obstruct the investigation.

In court documents obtained by CNN, attorneys cited a review of recorded calls from Diddy, 55, and said they were allegedly made from the phone accounts of other inmates. Prosecutors say Diddy made payments to other inmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center through intermediaries. He reportedly made “hundreds” of phone calls and texts in violation of prison rules.

“Since the defendant has been detained in the MDC, he has continued to try to evade law enforcement, influence the testimony of witnesses, and continue to attack the integrity of the cases,” the court documents read. “While trying to evade the supervision of the law, the defendant, among other things, organized social media campaigns, in his words, aimed at defaming the jury; he makes efforts to publicly disclose material that he considers useful in his case; and contacted witnesses through third parties.”

The music star was indicted by a grand jury in September, just weeks before he was arrested and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, conspiracy and transportation for prostitution. The 14-page lawsuit says Diddy is accused of “harassing, intimidating and coercing women and others around him” for decades.

Diddy pleaded not guilty before a judge denied him bail on three separate charges. He was remanded to the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn pending his trial, which is scheduled to begin in early 2025.

He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”

The statement continues, “He is an imperfect human being, he is not a criminal.” His compliments, Mr. Combs has been cooperating with the investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week to await the charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the actions of an innocent person who has nothing to hide, he is looking forward to clearing his name in court.”

Diddy and his legal team filed a new $50 million bail request earlier this month, saying that, due to changed circumstances and new evidence, he should be able to prepare for a trial outside a detention facility. The decision has not been made.
