After Trump’s White House visit, Charlamagne asks how Biden went from ‘threatening to democratic’ to ‘accepting again!’
Broadcaster Charlamagne Tha God called President Biden for his quick turnaround in dismissing President-elect Trump as an “existential threat” to American democracy to warmly welcome him to the White House.
Biden has repeatedly argued that Trump is “a threat to democracy.” While campaigning in the final weeks of the vice presidential election, Biden called for Trump to be jailed for “political reasons” and said “our democracy is at risk” if Trump wins. Since the election, however, Biden has become conciliatory, even welcoming Trump with a big smile in the White House.
Charlamagne talked about the big difference with his co-hosts on “The Breakfast Club” on Thursday.
JEAN-PIERRE BRISTLES WHEN HE IS DESTROYED FOR BEING A ‘DEMOCRACY’ FORWARD WARNINGS: ‘DO NOT MIND MY WORDS’
“I just don’t understand the visit to the White House. Now it’s allowed, you know, I’m happy that it’s a peaceful transition of power, but what happened to the ‘threat to democracy’ speech? What happened to the ‘fascist’ speech? ” Charlamagne asked. “By the way, I know I’ve said those things about Trump, but I’m not talking about me, I’m talking about his political opponents, like President Biden. If they say it, it carries more weight than me.”
JEAN-PIERRE ANGRY BY POTENTIALLY ‘SURPRISING’ QUESTION BETWEEN HARRIS AND BIDEN: ‘I DON’T EVEN UNDERSTAND’
He added further, “I’m just trying to figure out, how do you go from ‘You’re a danger to democracy’ to ‘Welcome back!'”
Another host noted that Biden appeared “happy, too,” adding, “He was happy, smiling, smiling, chewing, ‘Say cheese!’ he was kidding bro.”
“I’m just trying to figure out how,” Charlamagne said, confused. “I understand that President Biden believes in political principles, but mah!”
On Friday, Charlamagne made similar comments after Biden congratulated Trump on his victory and assured that his entire administration would work “to ensure a peaceful and orderly transition.”

“Don’t you find it strange that now that he has won, they don’t call him a threat to democracy? They don’t call him a fascist,” Charlamagne commented at the time.
“I would think that, you know, if you really believe that, then someone’s speech will be about how America has progressed and that things are going to get really bad. It makes you wonder how much they really believe, or if it was just politics,” said the broadcaster.
