Trump wins Arizona to sweep the states and secure 312 electoral votes
President-elect Trump officially won Arizona, reversing his 2020 election loss in a key swing state.
The race in Arizona was called by the Associated Press on Saturday evening. In Arizona, Trump received 11 more electoral votes, and won a total of 312 electoral votes. His opponent, Vice President Harris, received only 226 votes.
Trump’s Arizona nomination ends the swing state battle for the 2024 presidential election. In addition to Arizona, he received electoral votes in North Carolina, Wisconsin, Michigan, Nevada, Georgia and Pennsylvania.
President Biden won the state of Arizona by less than 1% in the 2020 election and the results in the key Maricopa County were also narrow, with Biden beating Trump by 2%.
Before Biden won Arizona in 2020, Republicans had carried the state every year since 1996.

Immigration was arguably the most important issue in Arizona, which shares a border with Mexico.
“We should be arrested immediately at the border,” Mary of Phoenix told Fox News Digital last month. “And if there is any suspicion that they will commit a crime, arrest them.”

Others in Arizona agreed with Harris’ message on his many trips to the state that Trump represents a threat to “Democracy.”
“Kamala, Kamala, Kamala!” a Tempe man named Bob told Fox News Digital. “The rich have been getting tax cuts and not accountability, and the Supreme Court is taking away the rights of federal agencies to regulate things. So we need to get that back in line and Kamala is going to do that instead of putting more Federalist judges up there.”
Arizona also has a higher percentage of Hispanic voters than the rest of the country, and while they favored Biden by 19 points in the last election, they showed signs of swinging toward Trump before the election.
